i liked this one the best of all the family movie night films that i saw. in general, i felt that the series has a relative truth vain that runs through it. it does not stick to absolute Biblical ethics. but it is produced by proctor and gamble and walmarts. the goal seems to be meet everyone in the middle, Bible believers and nonbelievers alike. very morally grey, much like the strong media messages that are going forth every day. confusing to kids..this particular film does teach a good lesson, though. setting aside our personal goals for the well being of others more vulnerable than us, in this case the children. good music. the song at the end, however has that ecumenical message: let's all live together. a very good idea if we are living for truth and the One who is Truth: the Lord Jesus ( i say this with great respect to people of other faiths). i mention it here because Christian Book is a Christ centered web sight. Lord bless you all in your search for the right messages for your families. : )
Even after reading the description on the movie jacket, one never knows what one will get. This is a good one. The couple want to live their lives on their own terms, but life throws them a surprise, in the form of someone else's children. It's fun to watch them change their perspective on what's important and very heart-warming to see they accept the responsibility given to them. This is a good one to view more than once.
This story is a very heartfelt story. It starts out with a couple that are enjoying being together and the way their lives are going. A friend dies and leaves them four children in her will. How they will respond to the children and what they do about their growing love for them is really what the movie is all about. The children are great and really teach the adults a lesson in caring. I think this is one of the very best movies to come along in a long time. No swearing, no bad situations, not much violence, except the oldest boy gets picked on and teaches the quarterback a lesson (that's minor compared to other movies) and it's just a really nice story. I am so happy I bought this and will enjoy seeing it again. Good for children to watch.
