Love Bibles1 Stars Out Of 5Be careful when you buy a Bible...what is the agenda?May 28, 2020Love BiblesValue: 1I absolutely LOVE the CEB version of the Bible, However, I was VERY disappointed when I got "The CEB Women's Bible". Be careful, just because it is a Bible does not mean all those who give their input are Biblical. I bought it expecting good input regarding the Women in the Bible and perspective from a Christian standpoint from Women leaders and found a very disturbing article titled "Same Gender Love" in the book of Ruth. It said that the Bible doesn't have a "single sexual ethic" and goes on to speak about the relationship that Naomi and Ruth and Jonathan and David had, calling them "suggestive stories" about some types of love between people of the same gender. A red flag went up, I found this Very disturbing. In finding out more, I found that the author of this article is an advocate for the LGBT agenda. So, I thought well maybe not all of the other authors of articles are, but why would the other authors endorse a article or writer that was? We must be very careful. It may be subtle, but it was clear that this article was in support of same gender sexual relationships. I believe we love ALL but we cannot say something that the Bible does NOT say, and promote "same gender sexual ethic", this is not Biblical. I will not keep it, even for the version. I will buy the version without the LGBT agenda in the notes. I am sending this Bible back.

It really is not a study Bible since it is mostly composed of short articles that point to features in the near-by Bible text. Some might call it a Bible-zine. The articles definitely examine the text but mainly those texts that feature women's interests and from a very pro-woman perspective. The notes never miss an opportunity to point out where a woman is being a leader. It is strongly egalitarian. I approve of that approach. If it is in the Bible, we should not overlook it.
