The CEB Study Bible combines the reliability and readability one expects of the Common English Bible translation with notes and other resources to help you grow in your understanding of and engagement with the Bible. Each biblical book has an introduction that provides an overview of the book and other details like authorship and theme. Extensive study notes throughout the Bible provide information for the reader to understand the text within the larger historical and literary framework of the Bible and give important parallel and background verses.
Unique to The CEB Study Bible are 210 sidebar articles for topics that require more discussion than the format of a study note allows. Concordance; 21 full-color maps from National Geographic; five in-depth articles from contributing scholars; and other additional in-text maps, charts, and pictures are included.

Shorebreak Dave4 Stars Out Of 5Worth considering a better-printed versionSeptember 13, 2016Shorebreak DaveQuality: 3Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4This study Bible has readable, accessible commentary. Printing the Biblical text in single column rather than the typical double column helps readability. The only other study Bible I can think of that does likewise is Oxford University Press's "The Jewish Study Bible," which has somewhat larger type and seemingly higher quality printing.
In the Gospels and Paul's letters, the commentary has been kept in check, so that the Biblical text usually takes up at least a bit more space than the comments. The commentary is admirably free of light on scholarly technical terms. Apart, perhaps, from very conservative Protestants, it's a usable, even chatty, Bible for regular use.
I'd like to see a slightly better printed version. Maybe large print?

They are both very well made, easy to read and understand copies of GODS' Word. I have enjoyed the way they use todays language, making scripture easier to understand.
I do recommend having one of these in your Bible library.
May God bless you with understanding in your study of His Wonderful WORD.

This Bible would be a good addition to your library. It is very large and heavy, but wth all the notes, and helps, that is to be expected. The print is large, and easy on the eyes.
May our wonderful LORD bless you with understanding in your study of His Word.

If this is large print I wonder how they define small print. I unfortunately can not recommend it to many of my friends who would need larger print to enjoy the full depth of this otherwise wonderful bible.
Ask a Question▼▲
Q: Will the CEB Study Bible be released in a version including the Apocrypha? The CEB was promised as a Common English Bible, yet 90% of the versions released have removed the Apocrypha / Deuterocanonical books. So, this is hardly a COMMON English Bible for those of us who are Anglican, as well as Catholic, Orthodox, and some Lutheran and Methodist Christians. I would especially expect to see a study version kept intact for those of us who have an interest beyond the very protestant face of this translation.
Yes, the "CEB Study Bible with Apocrypha" in a hardcover version has a planned release date of October 2013. It can be pre-ordered from CBD using stock number WW260292.
