Publisher's Description

A good fisherman knows that if you fish in shallow salt water you usually only get nibbles from crabs. In fresh water you only catch minnows, except certain times of the day when you might catch a nice bass. You have to cast out a little deeper if you want that awall hanger, a or even a mess for supper. Some of our marriages are in trouble, we lack direction, and our children are wild because we are fishing in shallow spiritual water. By casting out deeper in Godas Word, an avid outdoorsman can find truth for a strong family, peace in the storm, and sound advice for everyday life. Casting Out a Little Deeper gives the reader 366 daily devotionals with brief, fascinating, true fishing stories, each blended with a verse from the Bible. Even a virtual non-reader will find himself riveted to the stories and touched by the powerful messages.

Author/Artist Review

Author: BOB GREEN

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am a semi-retired missionary-pastor with a masters degree from a Southern Baptist seminary. My wife since 1966 is Martha, a retired elementary teacher. We have three grown children and seven grandchildren.

Her hobbies are art and Biblical counseling. Mine are hunting and fishing.

I have six books in print.

What was your motivation behind this project?  To reach people, particularly sportsmen, with the good news of Jesus.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  A deeper walk with our Lord and specifically a biblical approach for confronting many of the challenges and temptations we face in everyday life.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  The biblical research helped me better understand scripture and its application in my own life.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Authors would be C S Lewis, Vance Havner, my late friend,T W Hunt, and Henry Blackaby. Influences would be my late paternal grandfather, a teacher, Bobby Driggers, General George Patton, and my dear wife Martha.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  My desire to write is to touch lives I will never see long after I am gone. Of particular interest are those "good ole boys" who have never heard the gospel and never go to church. I have another devotional for hunters called IN GOD'S CROSSHAIRS, a life story called CROOKED RUN and three other books on my website.
