Without the means to support herself after her father dies, Carrington Brouwer receives the opportunity to use her artistic talent at her friend's father's carousel factory. But the men at the factory are not happy that a woman has been given the very desirable job of painting the elaborately carved horses. When mishaps occur at the factory and jewelry disappears from the home of the factory owner, accusations swirl. Is the handsome young factory manager truly Carrie's ally or will he side with those who believe she should be fired?

WilaniFranklin, NCAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great Historical FictionFebruary 25, 2014WilaniFranklin, NCAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Great historical fiction read about one of my loves-carousel horses. It was wonderful to get a glimpse inside a carousel factory. In addition to that setting, I loved the fact that the story is also all about living the Christian life every day of the week and not just on Sunday. It also shows the importance of being a testimony to others in the work place. The book also had a mystery to solve. This book is definitely worth of five stars. It will be a book I will want to read again.
LalaAge: 18-24Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Loved it!July 2, 2012LalaAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I really enjoyed this book! I loved the characters and the historical information about carousels! It made me want to go ride one again and appreciate the work that is put into the beauty of the horses! I really also liked how the author wove the Gospel in there as well and the transformation the main character makes because of it! Sometimes in life we don't realize that we are, say like the main character, prideful until we start digging into the Word of God! A must read!
Bonnie Skiba4 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful storyFebruary 19, 2012Bonnie SkibaThis was not what I expected, and it was a wonderful surprise. I decided to try the book by reading the back cover and the cover picture. The way the author describes everything in this story makes you part of the family within the story. It's a great read which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I had to stay up nearly all night to finish it. Author has a nice easy to read style. Not overly soppy, a bit of mystery and good underlying Christian message against pride and anger.

Predictable plot. Standard characters. Good morale standards. Not very exciting, but interesting in learning about painting carousels and dealing with anger and pride in a Christ-like manner.
