Product Description
▼▲In Canvas: A Portrait of Humanity, students will delve into the complexities of human nature and our relationship with God, unpacking what it means to be made in the image of God. The four-session study consists of an Immerse Lesson the first week, followed by three more traditional lessons. The Immerse lesson provides a general overview of the topic; Lesson 2 focuses on Scripture; Lesson 3 focuses on Church History, and Lesson 4 focuses on how today's church views the topic.
The Leader will lead the first lesson which is very interactive. The three traditional lessons can either be led by the Leader or by the students. The Student Guide includes information for Student Leaders with several options, plus a Leader devotional.
Each lesson is built around Kolb's Learning Cycle and moves students through five sections:
- Imagine - introduction to the themes with a fun activity

- Reflect - time to digest and process what they have heard
- Create - puts knowledge into practice using creative activities and projects
- Exhibit - practice and reinforce what they've learned through the week

Publisher's Description
▼▲By working together to learn from history, tradition, and the Bible, students will uncover a portrait of God that will be an inspirational foundation to their own journey.
This undated resource is designed to empower students to lead the lessons themselves, thus drawing students to not only learn about their faith, but put it into practice by serving and teaching others.
Flexible to use as a continuation of confirmation, a small group resource, or student leadership resource. Canvas will inspire your students to paint the picture of their faith.
As humans, we understand that we are incredibly complex beings. Were told in Genesis 2 that God formed us with Gods own hands and breathed the breath of life into our lungs, but we also know that we rebelled against God. In Canvas: A Portrait of Humanity, your students will delve into the myriad complexities of human nature and our relationship to God. Over four weeks, students will unpack what it means for humans to be made in the image of God, how that image has been distorted by our sinful nature, and why God continues to offer us a path back to redemption.
