Tell us a little about yourself.  I spent most of my life comparing myself to other people. It wasn't obvious to me or to those around me, but the comparison that flooded my heart kept me bound up in insecurity and frustration. But you should know, I grew up in church. I knew all the cliches. I knew that comparison was the "thief" of my joy. Yet, I still struggled. At least until I figured out what was keeping me stuck. Now I'm a podcaster, speaker, blogger, & author (check out my first book, "Compared to Who? about my body image struggles!) who encourages women to stop comparing and start living. I share the truth of the Gospel with a huge dose of grace and humor so you'll be encouraged and equipped to say goodbye to the life of comparison for good! P.S. You may recognize me from my epic television bake fail. Don't worry, I write better than I bake.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I set out to write a book on comparison but one theme quickly came to the forefront: comparison isn't just about comparing ourselves to other people, comparison is a constant quest for the ever-elusive state of better! Sometimes we compare ourselves to others and want better, but other times we may just compare ourselves to who we used to be or how we used to look--and long for that type of "better." In other cases we're trapped chasing an ideal of "better" that perhaps we never attained, but feel we could or should! My goal in this book to help any and every person who's ever struggled to be better, in any way, to find the freedom and rest offered through the Gospel.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  My prayer is always that my readers would find freedom. Freedom from comparison. Freedom from body image struggles. Freedom from the compulsion to always be better, look better, act better. . . I'd read many books on these topic, even Christian books, and still walked away feeling like I just needed to try harder or I should be able to "flip a switch" and make my problems go away. Neither worked for me. That's why I'm committed to helping my readers get beyond the surface, to the root of these issues, so they can find real freedom from the striving and pressure to chase better. Comparison's ladder has no top rung. I want to help you jump off this ladder and find peace right where you're at!
