Series: Angels Walking
Against the advice of her doctor, Mary Catherine moves to Uganda to work at a new orphanage. Whatever time she has left, Mary Catherine wants to spend it helping children—especially since she is unable to have children of her own. The only problem is Marcus Dillinger, the Major League Baseball player she was never meant to fall in love with. But neither Marcus nor Mary Catherine’s other friends—Tyler Ames and Sami Dawson—know just how serious her heart condition is.
Still, Marcus suspects something isn’t right. After months of silence, a divinely timed letter from Mary Catherine leads him on a desperate life-or-death mission to rescue her and get her to a US hospital before time runs out. Meanwhile, as Sami and Tyler prepare to marry, the group receives shocking news that changes everyone’s plans.
The team of angels walking is busier than ever in this epic battle between life and death. Brush of Wings is a poignant tale of love, sacrifice, and the power of faith.

I enjoy Karen's books and share with friends that also enjoy her.
bbb3 Stars Out Of 5Brush of Angel WingsMay 13, 2016bbbQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 2I was a little disappointed in this final installment. The story didn't keep me on the edge of my seat like the previous books did. It was a good read but a bit repetitive and predictable.
KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful!May 10, 2016KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The much anticipated conclusion to the Angels Walking series. You don't have to have read the first two books, but I think Brush of Wings will make more of an impact if you have. All the struggles of the previous stories come to fruition in this one and Mary Catherine is at the heart (pun intended) of it all.
And as much as I love Mary Catherine, I wanted to slap her silly through most of the read. For a young woman determined to live by faith she is intent on going her own way. A fault I can relate to -- I think we all can -- because, really, aren't there times in your life when you leave God out of the equation in case his plans are different from yours? :-)
Brush of Wings is the perfect showcase for the power of God and his ministering angels. I enjoyed catching a glimpse of Kingsbury's imaginative spiritual dimension and the special angels tasked with a difficult assignment. I cheered as they rallied around Marcus, Mary Catherine, Tyler, Sami and Lexi, engaging in spiritual warfare while the humans remain unaware. And, oh goodness, the power of prayer convicted me anew as I lost myself in this story. A stunning conclusion to an amazing series. I'd love to see this one on the big screen someday.

Kingsbury did that, but with very little authenticity in her plot or characters. Contrived best describes this entire story. Sadly lacking.
