God delights in transforming lives. In Broken Into Beautiful, singer and songwriter Gwen Smith's first book, she tells the real-life stories of women with shattered dreams, shameful secrets, and damaged souls, and the God who makes them beautiful again. Each chapter features a compelling personal story coupled with relevant biblical teaching and application. Readers will meet women wounded by infidelity, abortion, widowhood, abuse, and other tragic events, only to discover the joy of being restored by a loving heavenly Father.
The book will remind women of all ages of God's willingness to eternally forgive and forget and of His heart to transform broken lives. Readers will be empowered to believe truth, to remember grace, and to live for God's greater purposes. Broken into Beautiful is ultimately about a beautiful Savior who became broken for us so that all who are broken can be transformed to reflect His beauty.
Gwen Smith is a worship leader, recording artist, songwriter, and speaker for national women’s conferences and events. She challenges audiences all over the country to trade their brokenness for His beauty. Gwen is the cofounder of Girlfriends in God, a nondenominational conference ministry, and lives in North Carolina with her husband and their three children.
"Broken Into Beautiful is well-written, and although it is filled with real-life 'trauma' stories, it was refreshing to see it was also packed with Scripture, which is one of the key things God consistently used to bring those people (and continues to bring us all) through the trials He allows in our lives.
"I have already passed it on to a friend to read, and will continue to recommend it to all the women I come in contact with. It definitely has something for women of all walks and stages of life."
"Broken into Beautiful is truly one of the most encouraging books I have ever read. Although Gwen tackles many tough subjects and examples of broken lives, her focus is truly on the delight that God takes in mending hearts and transforming lives for His glory. The book is beautifully written, doctrinally sound, funny, touching, and laid out in a consistent, easy to follow manner from chapter to chapter.
"Thank you Gwen for your obedience to write this book and to share your beautiful Savior with a broken world. I've said it before, but will say it again: I love Gwen Smith because she loves God and now readers of Broken into Beautiful will too."
RaChelle Glauser5 Stars Out Of 5A book of healing for every woman to readDecember 14, 2015RaChelle GlauserQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Several years ago I purchased "Broken into Beautiful" by Gwen Smith at a women's conference (probably because it was on sale for $5) and read the first couple of chapters. Her area of brokenness was different than mine, so the book made its way unread back to my bookshelves. Recently, however, my attention was brought back to this book. It's amazing how life experiences can enhance our openness to learn from someone else's trials and victories. Because of my job with a pregnancy resource center, I can relate to Gwen's personal story on a different level, but overall I am more open to seeing how she allowed the Lord to heal her broken heart. When she did, amazing things began to happen. Then her willingness to be transparent transformed her ministry into something greater than she could have ever imagined. This book truly is for any woman ready for healing or ready to help others find healing.

Kathy Behlen5 Stars Out Of 5May 28, 2009Kathy BehlenI actually bought this book to help my 21 year old daughter get through some difficulties she is having. But as I read it myself I find that it is also helping me with some things I had thought I put behind me. I would recommend this for anyone to read who has doubts because of past/present sins, some men would also be able to see something of themselves. Read this book, believe what it teaches, apply it to your life and become beautiful again!

Denise Grove5 Stars Out Of 5March 1, 2009Denise GroveGwen Smith's transparency and honesty in this book is a breath of fresh air. In a world where many women walk hiding behind their "fake" smile it was great to read a story from someone willing to take off the mask. It is an inviting testimony of God's healing in her life. Broken Into Beautiful is a wonderful narrative of what can happen when we allow God to heal our broken places.
