Publisher's Description

A romantic, Christmas wedding at her seaside hotel gives Delilah a chance to shine with her unique gifts. But will her light be snuffed out before the bride and groom say "I do"?

As manager of the Tidewater Inn, Delilah Carter has been planning a spectacular Christmas wedding for her friends at the grand hotel overlooking the ocean. While picking up still more twinkly lights and some last-minute groceries for the reception dinner, a huge truck runs her off the freezing, wet roads into the dark night. Her car stops just short of an enormous tree and the truck speeds off into the night. Delilah escapes with her life and has almost convinced herself the whole thing was an accident, but then she begins to receive threatening phone calls. With the wedding just hours away, she’s distracted and anxious. Then Sheriff Tom Bourne stops by the inn and volunteers to help.

Tom has always had a soft spot for Delilah, and he’s determined to protect her. But he is pulled away by a bizarre Christmas stunt that has the neighborhood reeling, and Delilah is attacked again.

Will Delilah have to cancel the Christmas wedding at Tidewater Inn? And will Tom’s protection be enough to save Delilah from the shadowy figure looming in the background?

This Christmas novella takes place at the Tidewater Inn, a key setting in The Hope Beach series. There are three novels in the series and it would be best to have read them before reading this novella. Coble mentions several characters and events in this novella from those previous books. While one could enjoy reading this work alone, there would be much that would be missed.

This story centers on Delilah, manager of the Tidewater Inn. She's preparing for a wedding at the inn when there is an attempt on her life. Enter Tom, the local sheriff. He's been noticing Delilah for a long time but just has not had the nerve to tell her so.

So there is suspense, a mystery and the potential of a romance. The action in this novella goes fast. There is not a whole lot of character development nor description of the surrounding area, typical of such a short narrative. The plot was a decent one. Perhaps for brevity, there is some resolution of suspense that seemed a little too convenient.

I liked the story. For it's length, I think it is good. I recommend it to those who like a quick read and who have read the books in the series.

I received a digital copy of this novella from the publisher for the purpose of an independent and honest review.

    SUMMARY:

Run off the road and thrown into the ocean, Delilah Carter almost suffers the same fate her parents did years ago. In the midst of planning a wedding for her friends at Tidewater Inn, Delilah experiences another scare when she starts to receive threatening phone calls and is attacked again. Helped by the local sheriff, Tom Bourne, Delilah is faced with a difficult decisiondoes she continue with the wedding or save herself? Mystery, previous Hope Beach characters, and romance all mingle together around the Christmas tree

    A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:

Having read previous works by Colleen Coble, though not any in the Hope Beach series, I was unable to connect characters from this novella yet enjoyed it perfectly as a stand-alone. Just in time for the season of Christmas-themed novels (a favorite of mine), I was happy to start the time with All Is Bright. A quick read which caused me to definitely consider this authors other series, I will continue to seek works by her. Absolutely a novella to read this time of year!

    RATING:

    4 (out of 5) pennies

I have always loved reading Colleen Cobles books and this was no exception. We meet Delilah and Tom who are both lonely people heading into Christmas. Delilah masks her loneliness by helping others. Tom masks his by keeping busy with Sheriff work. When Delilah is attacked Tom has the perfect opportunity to stay close to her. As they are trying to discover who is attacking Delilah, we are caught up to date on the lives of the other characters from The Hope Beach Series. The only problem I had with the book is that it was too short. It would have been nice to have a little more character development. I realize novellas are short, so that wasnt a possibility. Overall it was a very book and I would recommend this book to anyone.

I was given this book by the publisher for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way
