Blessedmomomany5 Stars Out Of 5A new and wonderful way to include Advent in your Christmas celebrationsDecember 20, 2016BlessedmomomanyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This year we chose a different type of Advent for our family. The trend of Adult Coloring has hit this house hard this year, so when I saw the book All Is Bright written by Nancy Guthrie and illustrated by Lizzie Preston I just knew it was the perfect fit for our family!
This book combines a daily Advent reading with a daily coloring page that brings the words to life as we color it together. I'll admit we do not have the time to color every picture every day, but that's OK as I intend to use it more than one year so we can work on it some then too.
As each child colors a section I have them add their name and year to the page. Each year as we add to it we can see the previous coloring and remember. I also color in the book with them.
In the back of the book there are family activities to enhance the use of the book such as conversation starters, extra coloring pages, and even some ornaments and bookmarks to color that can be used as gifts or added to the tree. I plan to laminate them once we are done coloring them so they will last many years.
I realize its late in the season already, but the daily readings are short, so doubling or tripling the reading will catch you up quickly.
Review5 Stars Out Of 5All is Bright reviewDecember 2, 2016ReviewQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxing it was to color the pages after reading the devotions at the end of the day. This book is a perfect accompaniment to my traditional Advent study.
Becky5 Stars Out Of 5Amazing Devotional and Coloring Book!November 9, 2016BeckyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Adult coloring books are all the rage right now! So many of them are fabulous. After experimenting with All is Bright: A Devotional Journey to Color Your Way to Christmas, Im hooked!
If youre looking for an Advent to do this Christmas season, youll want to check this one out. Its perfect for both individual use or to do with your family. Its kid-friendly. There is a short devotional to help you focus on Jesus Christ during the chaos season of Christmas along with a coloring page for each day of the month of December. The content of this devotional focuses on the birth of Jesus Christ starting with Gods promise for a Saviour and ending with Pauls message of pressing on into the future.
These are just a sample of what some of the pages look like.
Each day, beginning with December 1st, is a short devotional with a title and scripture with a coloring page on the other side. Unlike most advents, this doesnt finish on Christmas Day. This goes until December 31st so you have an entire month.
I used colored pencils in the pictures above, but markers, water colors, or whatever you prefer to use should work. I did experiment with markers and was impressed that they didnt bleed through the pages. Even though the pages are thick, there arent any blank pages so that would be something to take into consideration if using markers or sharpies.
The back section is full of conversation starters and prayers that focus on worship. These are perfect to do with your kids or as a Bible study group. There are also tons of simple coloring pages that kids would love to color and use to decorate. There are ornaments and bookmarks to color and cut out.
I had so much fun coloring these and I cant wait to really use the book for my own personal use this December. During a busy time of the year, this is a great way to spend time with God and to worship Him.

Jade =)Grand Prairie, TXAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Gorgeous, Wonderful for Christmas Devotional TimeNovember 5, 2016Jade =)Grand Prairie, TXAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5All is Bright combines the beauty of the season, the story of the birth of Christ and gorgeously detailed coloring pages. Adult coloring is huge right now, and this book is perfect for those enthusiasts who relieve stress and tension through their fine-tipped markers and want to continue that through out the holiday season. It contains 31 devotional passages (December 1-31), each laid out beside a beautiful illustration beckoning to be filled in: nativity scenes, candles, welcoming front doors, musical instruments, angels and so much more. What I really appreciate about this book is that it also contains some coloring pages in the back that are less detailed for younger children. My kids always want to color with me and sometimes my books are too difficult for them to justice to... but All Is Bright solves that problem! It also includes some pages of Conversation Starters to take the devotions even further with your family.
This book will make a great gift for the coloring fanatic in your life, or a wonderful way to lead up to Christmas and the New Year with your family as a unit to truly focus on the reason for the season.
