A Merry and Bright Adventure: A Christmas Devotional for Family, Faith, Food, and Fun

Katie J. Trent is a respected leader in the Christian homeschool community and the founder of Family Faith-Building Academy. She has over a decade of experience in counseling children, teens, and families, having served as clinical director of two mental health agencies and as an elementary school counselor before transitioning to homeschooling and writing.

Along with her husband James, Katie also has more than fifteen years of ministry and church planting experience. In addition to A Merry and Bright Adventure, she authored Recipes for a Sweet Child: Creative, Bible-Based Activities to Help Your Family Thrive and Dishing Up Devotions: 36 Faith-Building Activities for Homeschooling Families.  

Through writing, blogging, and speaking, Katie loves to equip and encourage strong, faith-filled families. She has been a featured speaker at many homeschool conferences and has written for the Upper Room, Crosswalk, The Christian Journal magazine, homeschooling and parenting blogs, and other ventures.

Katie received her B.A. in social work from Boise State University and her master’s in social work from Northwest Nazarene University. She and James have a daughter and a son.
