Tell us a little about yourself. I'm Mona from Arizona. I write historical fiction and children's books. THE SINCLAIR SISTERS OF CRIPPLE CREEK SERIES is set in the late 1890s, one of my favorite time periods to research. Hmm...what else? I've fed a giraffe mouth-to-mouth, ridden a camel, and held a baby crocodile. I'm the wife of one wonderful man, mother of two darling daughters, grandmother to four amazing kids.
What was your motivation behind this project? It is Vivian Sinclair's turn to be seen and heard. She is the last of the four Sinclair sisters to arrive in Cripple Creek from Portland, Maine. She comes to Colorado with a secret, bearing the burden of shame. But our God is generous with second and third... chances for Vivian, the youngest Sinclair sister, and for you and I.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? You are not alone. You belong to a sisterhood of women who fail and triumph. Are you plagued by guilt, burdened by shame? You are not beyond the grasp of God's amazing grace. He's holding a new beginning out to you.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Both my father and husband were in law enforcement. I had lots of fun writing outlaws and lawmen into Vivian's story in THE BRIDE WORE BLUE. Glimpses of God's grace, even in the lives of fictional characters, never ceases to amaze me.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The parables of Jesus--truth shown in a story--inspire me to write fiction full of truth. My favorite authors include: Cathy Marie Hake, Lauraine Snelling, DiAnn Mills, Liz Curtis Higgs, Robin Lee Hatcher, Tamera Alexander, Deeanne Gist, Stephanie Whitson, Stephen Bly . . . .
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I appreciate you. Thank you for your interest in my writing and speaking ministries. God bless you!
