Publisher's Description

Neil Anderson, author of the bestselling The Bondage Breaker™, and his coauthors expose the trauma of legalism to let you see how Christ frees you from your efforts to be “good enough for God.”

Far too many Christians believe that the Christian life is “trying hard to do what God commands.” But making laws into lords estranges you from Christ. In this liberating book, the authors uncover

  • the chains of legalism: shame, guilt, and pride
  • the keys to liberty: knowing who you are in Christ and resting in the Father’s love
  • the life of freedom: experiencing joyful friendship with God and obeying Him because you love Him

If you’re weighed down by rules you can’t possibly keep, here’s encouragement and an appeal to the church to be free in Christ.

Previously titled Breaking the Bondage of Legalism.

If you have ever had any legalism in your life, this is a 'must have' book for your library! I wish I had known of it years ago. It is thought provoking, convicting, and will bring you to healthy tears. If I could, I'd buy one for everyone I know! I just finished reading it and am going to read it again. The last part of the book is where the healing begins and the exercises and prayers in that section are a God-send. After struggling for many years, being raised in legalism, leaving it when a teen, going to a "normal" church, ending up back in legalism, and then in a severely abusive legalistic church, to a God-centered, grace-centered church ... God has help me immensely through this book. God bless the authors! To finally break free from the chains of legalism is something that I never saw happening. Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last!
