A year ago, this book would have rocked my world. I found MOPS before it was written though! :) I agree with other reviewers that it's an easy read with great, practical information - but also that the style isn't really one that grabs my attention and keeps it. That said, as a new mom, or when I was going through the part of my life that was ruled by fear, it honestly would have been a game-changer.

Sherry writes like she's sitting in the room with you, across the table, coffee in hand. Nodding along as you tell her your fears and reassuring you that you aren't crazy. Or alone. Or even wrong. Fears happen, and they happen to all of us. Fears of inadequacy and the unknown and failure and ER visits...fear is something all of us on Team Mom can understand.

It's comforting to read a book like Brave Mom. To know that you aren't alone, to know that your fears aren't crazy, that you aren't crazy, is priceless.

I received a free copy of this book to review. It was an easy read, each chapter smooth and to-the-point. I very much enjoyed the format, with real-life moms describing their own experiences with recognizing and dealing with their parenting fears. The information was not new to me, but it was practical and applicable and a very timely topic for moms. The writing style did not grab me, but I am glad I had a chance to read the book!

Sherry Surratt is the President of MOPS International and Brave Mom is the theme book this year. It's filled with great advice for the us moms, battling through the trenches of raising little ones, and focusing on ten of our biggest fears as mothers. I can always use encouragement direct from Scripture, as well as from a seasoned mom.

Nothing in the book was new information to me or totally attention-grabbing, but it was a nice read to confirm that my fears as a mom are completely normal and reiterated practical ways to get over them and move on. Would make a great gift for a new mom!
