I hope i am being fair in my rating. I read A Man with a Past first by mistake. So many things that I read in that book was repeated word for word in Braced for Love. So I think no matter what order I read them in, I would get the same results. Maybe I should wait a longer time between reading the books in a series. Also I have a hard time when the author miss names the character she is talking about. For example referring to Kevin as Wyatt and then in the next paragraph calling him Kevin again. I know these novels are proofed and edited more than once, so I am not sure how this happens. I have read all but maybe two or three of Mary's books, so I have really enjoyed her writing in the past. Maybe I am being too critical, if so I apologize.

Every time I pick up a Mary Connealy book, whether it's old or brand new, I am reminded why I enjoy them so much. Her distinctive blend of historical romance, western, and romantic comedy is so much fun to read! Braced For Love is the first book in her new Brothers In Arms series and it's a real humdinger!

I got a real kick out of Braced For Love. It had all the familiarity of a Mary Connealy novel with a few surprises tossed in for good measure. Seriously, though, I did not see our hero's line of work coming...but it was a perfect choice for him.

There were a lot of twists and turns in Braced For Love, some I saw coming and some I didn't. I think my greatest enjoyment of the story came from trying to guess what Mary Connealy would do next with her crazy crew of characters. And, trust me, crazy is the best word for the antics of this mixed up, off-beat, confused trio of brothers and the rest of their family, half family, and other assorted who-knows-what-they-are.

You really can't go wrong with any Mary Connealy book but whether you are new or an old hand with her novels I'd definitely recommend Braced For Love. I enjoyed it and can't wait to read the next Brothers In Arms novel...

(I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)

It is always an exciting day when a new Mary Connealy novel arrives in the mail! She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors especially if I am in the mood for western cowboys, excitement, humor and heart.

Braced for Love is the first book in a new series titled: Brothers in Arms. In book 1, we meet Kevin Hunt and his younger half sister and brother. They are traveling from Kansas to inherit a ranch in Wyoming. The catch is that he has another half-sibling to share it with because the father Kevin thought was dead had remarried and had another son, Wyatt. There is lots of suspicion between the brothers and then the danger gets even more intense. Add in pretty school teacher Winona who is a long-time friend of Wyatt standing in between the two brothers and you have a stage set for some explosive fun and action.

This book sets up the series with lots of half-brothers and half-sisters to match up romantically. As always, I love Marys characterizations and her fun prose and exciting plots. I enjoyed reading Brace for Love and cannot wait to receive the next book in the series!

I loved this little bundle of characters! So fun and funny. My goodness, I laughed often while reading this book. I love that the women characters are sassy and capable, though in different ways. And I love the brothers slowly growing more used to each other.

I had NO CLUE who was responsible for all of the chaos and I was completely surprised when it was revealed. I loved that I didn't see it coming.

Though I loved Kevin and Win, I really wished they had more time together on the page. I'm a romance girl through and through; that's what I'm here for. And though I did get a romance, I felt robbed of some great potential because of everything else going on. But I loved that Connealy laid the groundwork for the stories to come and I hope to see more of Kevin and Win in the next books.

Overall, I enjoyed this novel and I'm looking forward to the next in the series!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from NetGalley. All expressed opinions belong to me.

Kevin and his half-siblings, Andy and Molly, are a family until the telegram arrives. Well, to be honest, they are still family after the telegram arrives, but Kevin learns he has a half brother he never knew existed. The plot of the story reveals the depravity of the human heart and the upheaval that can be caused by one wicked man. To clarify, I am not talking about Kevin but of his father. The man wove such a twisted web that I never was totally certain if all his secrets were found out. If not, he took them to the grave with him. I enjoyed the action and suspense. The setting was truly from the Wild West, which has always been a favorite of mine.
