Homeschooler5 Stars Out Of 5Made my son weepFebruary 18, 2015HomeschoolerQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I just received this book in the mail 2 days ago. My 11 year od son and I read the first chapter this afternoon. After reading it, I saw my son had tears in his eyes. Tearfully he said, "I always wondered why God put me here on earth and didn't keep me in heaven. Now I know I have a purpose on earth.". It was a very moving moment for us both when we needed it most. The we took a walk and talked like never before. I thank God for this book and the way He used it to move the Holy Spirit in my son's life.
SheaTexasAge: Under 18Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful Read for the Whole FamilyOctober 3, 2014SheaTexasAge: Under 18Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We have and highly recommend any, or all of Bob Schultz's books. It seems they were written for males, but even females can gain a lot from reading them. These books are good reads for Grandparents, parents, sons, daughters, or any grandchild 10 to 12, or older.....
AmbrossiaLubbock, TexasAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Beyond WordsMarch 7, 2013AmbrossiaLubbock, TexasAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I originally bought this book for my son, whom I will start home schooling next semester. He's been out of my home for 10 years and I fear he hasn't had the "male" bonding time that he should have gotten with his father. He's 15 now.
He's very intelligent but is still like any boy of today's world. Into games and technology. He loves to read though and loves to learn.
I thought that maybe a good read of "old fashioned" ideas would help him better understand that he can still be a gentleman in today's age, but still be "hip" or "cool"
This book broke all expectations. I read it first, to ensure that it had the values and morals that I tend to cling onto. One of the things that worries my son is that he's of a science mind and that religion and science doesn't mix. The very first chapter actually provides a different aspect on this view, where God actually encourages science.
The author was very clever and witty in putting some of the childhood experiences in with concept. A very intelligent book.
