I keep to myself and have given up on making friends. My reaction to the book was personal because of a past that had little happiness. I'm a Christian but seldom laugh and enjoy myself. I'm too afraid of other people.
This book was geared for people who had fun times growing up and just needed to be reminded of them and encouraged to live a "freer" life. I don't have that to look back to.
I had hoped there would be some sort of suggestions and encouragement for me. I think it's a really good book for the audience it's geared for.
CKendall5 Stars Out Of 5October 26, 2009CKendallWe all need to have a little fun every now and then. Author Jill Baughan is an expert on having fun and she shares her experiences and wisdom in Born to be Wild: Rediscover the Freedom of Fun. Jill has had some painful times in her life, but she has never failed to remember the importance of fun and play. In this book, she shares her experiences and stories from all the phases of her life and helps the reader find his or her inner child. Each chapter has a personal story about how a little fun helped her deal with a painful or difficult situation.I had a lot of fun reading this book. It is inspiring to read about this authors experiences and how she never gave up on having fun and staying young at heart. So many times, we get bogged down by life and forget, especially as adults, that having fun is Gods way. Jill gives the reader a lot to think about with her Try This reflections at the end of the chapters and with several verses of Scripture throughout. I especially enjoyed the cow suit story. I cant say I would have the courage to do some of the things Jill has done, but I sure had a good time reading about them. It was hard to put this book down. It is funny, without being corny and it is heartwarming, without being heavy. Read this book and have some fun!Become a New Hope Book Review Blogger.
