Britt98Grand Prairie, TXAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Wonderful Second Chance Love Story!April 15, 2021Britt98Grand Prairie, TXAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Bookshop by the Sea was such a wonderful story! I was amazed at how quickly both Sophie and Aiden burrowed into my heart. I loved the way they were thrown together during the wedding and the hurricane, forcing them to confront their painful breakup from seven years earlier.
This was a beautiful second chance love story. I liked that both Aiden and Sophie began to realize how much they cared for each other and the way Aiden's decision to stay and help Sophie get the bookshop ready showed that he was not the same person that he used to be. However, both Aiden and Sophie had some things in their personal lives that needed to be addressed in order for a future together to be a real possibility. Their path to happily-ever-after included some painful moments, which made it all the more realistic. Their journey back to each other was a beautiful one.
I loved this story from start to finish and it is definitely one that I will read again and again.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own. -
Karen5 Stars Out Of 5Loved it!!!April 15, 2021KarenI am a huge fan of Denise Hunter. I love that a lot of her books are set in North Carolina and this book is no exception. Also if you have read her Bluebell Inn series then you will recognize a character in this book. Not only was I drawn into this book by the setting but also the storyline as well as the gorgeous cover. This book takes place by the beach in a town called Pipers Cove. The main character, Sophie Lawson, has moved there in order to open up her very own bookshop which she has named Bookshop by the Sea. Due to the wedding of her sister to the best friend of her ex-boyfriend and also a hurricane canceling his flight, she gets stuck with her ex-boyfriend, Aiden Maddox. Unfortunately, Sophie also has a lot of family drama. Her entire family seems to think that she is their personal assistant. I really enjoyed this book but I will say that every time one of her family called her only to ask a favor I found myself wanting to jump in and say cannot you handle some things for yourself. I would definitely like a sequel to this novel and I would definitely recommend anyone who likes good beach reads to read this book.

Amanda B5 Stars Out Of 5Second ChancesApril 13, 2021Amanda BQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Denise Hunter is one of a few authors on my auto-buy list. When she releases a new novel, I know I will never be disappointed.
Bookshop by the Sea opens with Sophie holding everything together for what seems like everyone. She's the problem-solver, the peace-keeper, the go-to woman for every need. She's fallen into this role somewhat naturally, having to help raise her younger siblings with her mom came down with a chronic illness and her dad left the family. We find Sophie serving as maid-of-honor at her sister's wedding. Also in the wedding party is Aiden, the man who broke her heart years ago. After the wedding, as a hurricane strands them together, we see them have an opportunity to catch up and mends the wounds from the past.
Sophie has always put her dreams on the back burner as a sacrifice to her family, but it seems she may actually be able to finally pursue them, until one disaster after another threatens her bookshop she's trying to open. Aiden is now also a small business owner, adrenaline junkie, and is highly respected in his industry. His eyes are opened to exactly how many sacrifices Sophie has made through the years.
Sophie's lack of boundaries with others really bothered me, and I was concerned I'd end up disappointed in the book, and with the characters. I never should have doubted Denise Hunter's ability though; she worked that out beautifully.
I also loved the setting of North Carolina, since I'm a native. This was another great book by Hunter.
Many thanks to Thomas Nelson for allowing me an ARC of this book for review purposes. This review expresses my honest opinion.

Dana MichaelAge: Under 18Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5Great Beach ReadApril 13, 2021Dana MichaelAge: Under 18Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4This review was written for Bookshop by the Sea - eBook.Bookshop By The Sea is a sweet second chance romance. Hunter is such a wonderful author. I can always count on a good read from her. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. The heroine sets up a bookshop by the sea and her ex from high school helps her get it ready. With lots of bumps along the way it made for a delightful and enjoyable read.
Also, it was a fun surprise to get a visit in this book from Molly and Adam (Nathaniel Quinn) from Lake Season in this story.

Sandra Burson5 Stars Out Of 5What a Great ReadApril 13, 2021Sandra BursonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Bookshop by the Sea - eBook.I have never read a Dennis Hunter book I didn't love. Bookshop by the Sea is no exception. I fell in love with the two main characters in the first few pages. There was such great chemistry between Sophia Lawson and Aiden Maddox. The only problem I expected would be from Sophia, for she had to become an adult, grow up, and take care of her family so young. The characters were so well constructed, even the ones I wasn't sure I would like. I was very excited when I saw previous characters from a prior story make a cameo appearance. It kept my interest and it had a perfect ending. I did get a little nervous for awhile, but Dennis never disappoints.
I thank Thomas Nelson Publishers for allowing me, through NetGalley, to read this book. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
