The Bible has one author-God-so we need to see the Bible as a whole, as God's word. Every book of the Bible is the breath of God and the plan of salvation spans all of Scripture. In this Bible overview each book of the Bible is summarized; background given; themes and theology explained. There is also a 'salvation thread' feature that shows how God's plan of redemption is not just part of the New Testament-but runs through the whole of the Bible.

If you've read the Bible, you probably know some of the important battles, a good chunk of the life of Jesus, maybe a Psalm or two - but what do you know about the minor prophets and the epistles? Do you have some loose ends that need tying up? This is where a book like this helps. The Bible has one author - God - so we need to see the Bible as a whole, as God's Word. Every book of the Bible is the breath of God and the plan of Salvation spans all of Scripture. In this Bible overview each book of the Bible is summarised; background given; themes and theology explained.
Paul Reynolds has written an excellent resource for children, parents and churches. This book navigates the 66 books of the Bible, leading always to the Savior. If you use this book, your children will hear the gospel to the praise and glory of God and our Savior Jesus Christ.
It is so exciting to see God's beautiful tale of redemption through stories of the Bible unfolded in a format such as 66BoS. The questions, references, thread, and overview all point to knowing God as our rescuer and hero. I look forward with anticipation to using this devotion with my children, young adult Bible studies, and as a gift to others seeking to know the truth. 66 Books One Story is a wonderful tool to see the consistency of who God was, is, and always will be.
"66 Books, 1 Story is an excellent teaching and reference resource for elementary children's ministry, Sunday School, or home schooling. Each chapter provides a basic introduction and overview of each Bible book as well as key teaching points. The "Salvation Thread" section relates the message of the book to the overarching message of the Bible. I'm thankful for such a well-written resource that will provide an excellent supplement both for teaching and family devotions.
Ever wonder how so many different books belong to the same volume, the Bible? Here is a most lively, memorable, and engaging expedition through every book of Holy Scripture. While the different authors, characters and modes are recognized and explored, everything in them centers on the one fundamental truth: the gospel of Jesus Christ. The illustrations are vivid, unforgettable. The choice of verses from each book brings-out their unique contribu-tion, and at the same time points to the great message that makes the sixty six books a vital part of the same story: God's relentless pursuit of his people in order to bring them into his covenant of grace. This guide makes the entire Bible really accessible. Families and small groups, parishes as well as individuals should use it to great effect. There is nothing quite like it.
"This book is written to equip both children and their parents in this holy ambition of knowing Christ better and loving Christ more than anything else we know and love in this world."

Tell us a little about yourself. Husband to Rachael, father of Jude and Alice, and Assistant Pastor for Discipleship & Children's Ministries at First Baptist Church of Grand Cayman.
What was your motivation behind this project? 2 Timothy 3:15-16 shows us that the WHOLE Bible is written for ALL of us, and I wanted to help children understand it better so as to benefit from it. Specifically, I wanted a way to move my son beyond just the stories to explore all that God says about himself and the story of Christ and redemption.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I pray people will want and love God more through a greater understanding of His Word. I want children to know in their hearts that God wrote the Bible for THEM, not just grown-ups, and that they can learn from the whole of Scripture, including all those bits that seem weird, or irrelevant, or boring, like prophets, letters, the Law and the wisdom literature...
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I was humbled at the sheer scale of God's grace that I saw throughout the Old Testament. Even just looking at the 400 years of history we see in the book of Judges, God's patience and saving kindness to his people after they continually ignore him/reject him/rebel against him so many times, is just staggering. Then understanding that I'm no better than them reinforces how much God has done for me, how much he loves me and how much grace he has shown me...
