Blossom Street Brides is a wonderful story about three women who have become friends because of a knitting shop called A Good Yarn. Lydia, Lauren, and Bethanne each have personal issues which challenge their hearts.
Lydia owns A Good Yarn. She is raising a stepson and an adopted daughter who is troubled by the trauma of her early childhood. Lydia is also dealing with the failing health of her mother. She wants to increase business at her shop and is suddenly being assisted with that matter by an unknown individual who has been leaving knitting baskets in public places. People are asked to knit part of a scarf and return it to A Good Yarn when they are finished. Who could have started this project? This is quite a mystery and adds to the interest of the story.
Lauren wants to be happily married and wishes to start a family. Her current relationship seems to be going nowhere. Will she find the strength to move on, or will she continue to wait for a man who is more interested in himself than in her? Will that man realize he wants to share his life with Lauren before it's too late? Can Lauren find what she is looking for in a man who seems to be totally opposite of her? She begins to knit a baby blanket for her sister and then begins to experience life changing events.
Bethanne is happily married to her second husband, Max. However, her first husband won't let her go. He is a controlling man who wants his own way no matter how he gets it, or who he hurts while trying to remain in control. Max and Bethanne are trying to maintain a long-distance marriage, but it is becoming more and more difficult. Will their love for one another overcome the many obstacles in their path? They will need to make some tough decisions to save their marriage.
I really enjoyed this book and read it in one day! There were some surprises in the plot and I found I could not wait to find out what would happen to each of the characters. If you enjoy romantic stories with healing themes, you will love this novel!

Book Review: I have always loved Debbie Macomber's books and therefore I am prejudice in my thoughts on her books. I loved the Lydia, Lauren and Bethanne. They were great and very likable characters. Brad, Max and Rooster were great guys. I was less bowled over by Rooster - not a fan of the name. He did grow on me as a character. It is this particular reason that Debbie Macomber is a good author. Rooster was a risky character. I personally am not into men with long hair, biker guys and the like. Yet there was more to Rooster than just those things. The quick meeting and the quick build in the relationship was like my relationship to my husband made it even more fun. Rooster had an old fashion side to him that was sweet and lovable. While not suspenseful in romance it was a wonderful book. Bethanne and Max had their problems, but they were a solid couple. This is a welcome theme in a world with so many failed relationships. Lydia and Brad were the rock solid family a sweet addition to the overall book. I am very glad I got to read this story.
I would like to thank Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

Would you believe that this is the first book I have read by Debbie Macomber? Why did I take so long? I found this book to be entertaining, refreshing, romantic, fun, and intriguing. I keep thinking how great to see it on screen. Apparently this is the tenth book of a series. Looks like I have some catching up to do.
