FBI agent Declan Grey is in the chase of his life--but isn't sure exactly what he's chasing after. Threatened by a terrorist that "the wrath is coming," Grey fears something horrible is about to be unleashed on American soil. When his investigation leads him to a closed immigrant community, he turns to Tanner Shaw to help him. She's sought justice for refugees and the hurting around the world, and if there's anyone who can help him, it's Tanner.
Tanner Shaw has joined the FBI as a crisis counselor . . . meaning she now has more opportunity to butt heads with Declan. But that tension also includes a spark she can't deny, and she's pretty sure Declan feels the same. But before anything can develop between them, they discover evidence of a terror cell--and soon are in a race against the clock to stop the coming "wrath" that could cost thousands their lives.
BernCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Thrilling fun!December 30, 2017BernCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I was so excited to receive the 3rd book in the Chesapeake Valor Series! I enjoyed the series from the start and I was looking forward to the spotlight moving to FBI Agent Declan Grey and Tanner Shaw. I would definitely recommend this series.
Since the series surrounds a group of friends, I appreciate how there is a main storyline that surrounds a particular character, in this case, Declan and Tanner, and a subplot that continues alongside the storyline that intertwines the characters and plot twists and turns.
Declan and Tanner are thrown together when Tanner Shaw joins the FBI as a crisis counselor. Together they are attempting to uncover a terror plot that is brewing on American soul. As they try to uncover more information, Tanner skills in building relationships so easily with people becomes invaluable.
I appreciated how the characters are believers seeking to live out their faith in the midst of very dangerous jobs and situations. They stop to pray and seek the Lord's guidance.
I thoroughly enjoyed this third book and cannot wait to read more from Dani Pettrey!
katiespenGreer, SCAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Good ReadDecember 16, 2017katiespenGreer, SCAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5FBI Declan Gray and the FBI's new crisis counselor, Tanner Shaw, find themselves thrown into what could possibly be the most dangerous case of their lives. Time is slipping away as they try to find a terrorist cell and discover the location of their next planned attack. But the more time they spend together, the more the two realize that their feelings are growing.
In the meantime, the rest of the team is working on a different case--one that involves an old friend, who has been accused of stealing money from his clients. When the coach ends up dead, the team is determined to discover the killer and find out whether the theft allegations are true. But time is running out for them, too, as the killer gets farther and farther away. Can they solve the murder in time?
I love Dani Pettrey's writings, but I jumped into this series without realizing it was the third book. I definitely think I need to read the first two books as there were a lot of characters, and it was confusing at times. It also got a little confusing with two different cases going on. I had to keep jumping back a few pages to figure out who was working which case. I think it would have been better to just focus on one case for this book. There was just a lot going on.
I also thought there was a lot more romance in this book than is normal for Dani's writings. I prefer more of the drama with a little romance mixed in, but romance seemed to be the main theme of this book.
I did, however, think that Dani did a great job of portraying what it would be like to be a Christian working on some of these difficult cases--praying to God for guidance and thanking Him or the outcome.
Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I think I need to start the series and then read this one again.

KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5So good I can't even find the words....well, maybe a few...December 12, 2017KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Warning : reader whiplash is inevitable. Book future chiropractor appointments accordingly. Because this is the most amazing, twisty-turny, gasp-out-loud, swoon-on-the-run read. That whoosh you hear? That's me finally releasing my pent up breath now that I've reached the end. I'm feeling rather light-headed and discombobulated so this review might not make any sense but I'll do my best.
First off this is the third book in Pettrey's Chesapeake Valor series and while you don't have to read the first two books I think you'll enjoy it more if you have. The author has been developing relationships and setting up a far-reaching suspense plot through these first three books. And, mercy, this is edge-of-your-seat stuff. I'm not sure if my heart can handle the fourth book. Of course I'll still read it. I just might need counseling afterwards.
One of the things I love the most about Blind Spot is that there's just as much romance as suspense. And it's there right from the very beginning. A desperate unrequited yearning that both Declan and Tanner try to keep at bay. They aren't very successful much to this reader's delight. And this has been developing over the course of the series so it's especially satisfying when this hero and heroine finally let their barriers down.
Tons of action, intriguing suspense (two different cases that involve heroes and heroines from previous books) and some gobsmackingly surprising revelations about Tanner Shaw will keep you feeling like you're riding a tilt-a-whirl right to the very last page....which is somewhat of a suspense cliffhanger. Anxiously waiting for Dead Drift which doesn't release until July 2018.
Fitzysmom5 Stars Out Of 5Review from Rambles of a SAHMDecember 1, 2017FitzysmomQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Usually the best book of the series is the first. The first book in this series, Cold Shot, was very good and the second book, Still Life, was good too but I think this third book is my favorite. I've been thinking about why and I have decided it is because I have come to know the characters better and the underlying story has developed to the point that I can't stand to put it down.
I'm a fan of Dani Pettrey's writing so I knew the suspense element would be good but I believe she's taken her talent for leaving the reader wondering what's next to a whole new level. There is a cliff-hanger at the end of this book that is almost not fair. When I turned that final page I couldn't believe she would torture us so! But of course that's the sign of a good writer's ability to keep the reader wanting more.
After reading Blind Spot I was wishing that I had the discipline to wait to start the series until it was entirely written. But of course I can't! The minute I know the book has been released I want it in my hands. If you enjoy a good dose of suspense sprinkled with some swoon-worthy romance then Dani Pettrey and this series particularly are worth your time. I can't wait for the next book and I think you'll feel the same way.
I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
