FBI agent Declan Grey is in the chase of his life--but isn't sure exactly what he's chasing after. Threatened by a terrorist that "the wrath is coming," Grey fears something horrible is about to be unleashed on American soil. When his investigation leads him to a closed immigrant community, he turns to Tanner Shaw to help him. She's sought justice for refugees and the hurting around the world, and if there's anyone who can help him, it's Tanner.
Tanner Shaw has joined the FBI as a crisis counselor . . . meaning she now has more opportunity to butt heads with Declan. But that tension also includes a spark she can't deny, and she's pretty sure Declan feels the same. But before anything can develop between them, they discover evidence of a terror cell--and soon are in a race against the clock to stop the coming "wrath" that could cost thousands their lives.

With two mysteries to solve Blind Spot moves at a very fast pace. Dani Pettrey's tagline "Up All Night Suspense" is spot on with Blind Spot.
This is easily my favorite book in the Chesapeake Valor series, all of the characters were established in the two previous books. With Blind Spot we get to sit back and watch them grow while holding on for dear life. Griffin and Finley McCray, Parker Mitchell, Avery Tate, Kate Maxwell, a glimpse of Luke Gallagher, and of course the main characters of Blind Spot, Declan Gray and Tanner Shaw, each play a role in either or both of the two unfolding mysteries. The suspense is edge of your seat awesomeness.
I highly recommend Blind Spot to anyone looking for a thrilling weekend read.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Angela SuzanneAge: 18-24Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Excellent Romantic SuspenseNovember 18, 2017Angela SuzanneAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As with the first two books in this series, I enjoyed this book. It was fast-paced and took the reader through two unrelated cases, although at times I wondered if they were going to be connected. This book is better if you have read the whole series because it ties back to what has happened in the first two, the second one especially. I liked how the two stories overlapped with the characters. Even though it meant there were several POV characters, some only getting a couple of scenes, I still enjoyed the book as I already knew the characters from the previous books so it didn't seem like it was overdone.
BookLoverGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Can I have the next one, now?? Please!November 15, 2017BookLoverGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is the third book in Dani Pettrey's Chesapeake Valor series and I have been impatiently awaiting Declan and Tanner's book! I have so enjoyed the other two books in the series, so of course, I had high expectations and I can happily say Blind Spot surpassed them all!
One of my very favorite things about Ms. Pettrey's books is how she weaves them together. Though this book technically could be read alone, it makes so much more sense if the others are read first, and I definitely have to read the last one, now! I love how the characters' lives intertwine, continuing from the last book as though little time has passed. I love the camaraderie and relationship not only between the hero and heroine, but the others in the group as well. These four friends are always there for one another, regardless of the hour of day or what might be going on in their own lives. This also plays out in the dual mystery, something else I greatly enjoyed. I appreciated reading the story from several different perspectives and trying to piece together the answers with them. It also definitely increased the suspense, having it jump from one person and mystery to another. I do confess that there were a couple times I had a bit of trouble keeping up with everything that was going on and all of the new names! But the author did an excellent job of connecting the dots for me and reminding me who was who, without seeming repetitive.
I definitely enjoyed getting to know Declan and Tanner better! Their story actually starts in the first book in the series, "Cold Shot," and has continued through this one. I so enjoyed seeing these two stubborn people finally find their footing and decide that yes, a relationship was in the works. There are some sweet moments between them, a couple rather steamy ones, and for sure some crazy ones as they chased a terrorist plot across the country. Another thing I appreciate about Ms. Pettrey's writing style is how she is able to weave a romance through a mystery plot, without having either feel neglected or overwhelmed by the other. She strikes a fine balance between the two that has me both smiling and cheering them on as they chase the bad guys.
Overall, I greatly enjoyed this story and am anxiously awaiting the fourth (and by my understanding, last) book in the series! Especially after that cliff-hanger!
*My thanks to Bethany House Publishing for my complimentary copy of this book! I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
BeckySW MIAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5New Dani Pettrey Fan...November 14, 2017BeckySW MIAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I jumped cold into Blind Spot, book three of the Chesapeake Valor series,by Dani Pettrey. The only things I had to fear were terrorists, human trafficking, drugs, and ruthless crime lords. No fear of being lost because I hadn't read the first two books, no bad language or situations. Yay!
This is the story of Declan and Tanner and their journey towards God and each other in a harrowing line of work. Yet it is also the continuation of the story of a group of friends;of a lost love;and the foundation for more spine-tingling danger and romantic suspense yet to come.
Do expect nail-biting suspense. Don't expect all the answers to be revealed. The plot is much grander than the characters or we readers know. I am a new Dani Pettrey fan as of this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. I am not under an obligation to provide a review, positive or otherwise.
reliWIAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A cliffhangerNovember 14, 2017reliWIAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As I've said before, I'm not generally big into mystery suspense books, especially if it involves murder etc. But Dani Pettrey does a superb job of writing that makes me hang on to the edge of my seat. It definitely makes middle of the night feedings almost fun and I can for sure stay awake.
This is the third book in the Chesapeake Valor series and it better not be the last one because the book ends on a cliff hanger. There are two main threads running through the book. A group of friends are all involved in investigation work of some sort, either independently, with the FBI or with the local police. A couple are investigating a coach's murder and another couple are trying to figure out what big terrorist threat is coming to the US soil and how to stop it in time. Combine that with sightings of a long-lost friend who's working undercover and you have a really good story. And while the one terrorist attack does get stopped, there's another in the works and that's where the book ends. So if you don't like cliff hangers, I recommend waiting to read this book until the next one comes out.
There is, of course, the thread of romance that runs through this book as well, but it wasn't overpowering. Faith in God and belief in His timing also runs through the book.
It does appear that there might be a final installment to this series, but no timeline is given for when it will be released.
I enjoyed this book just as I have enjoyed the other books in this series. I haven't read anything else by Dani Pettrey, but I'm guessing they're good as well.
I received this book from Bethany House in exchange for an honest review.
