Amanda5 Stars Out Of 5Most relatable Duck wifeMarch 27, 2017AmandaQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0I just finished reading this book in only a couple days, and it has become one of my favorites from the Robertson family. In a few of the family's other books I was beginning to feel like it was becoming repetitive of the information that was being provided - same stories. That isn't the case in this book, Missy goes into much detail about things she's delt with making her easy to relate to especially if you've gone through similar experiences.

Like many I knew a little about the Robertson's as a whole, but discovered so much more depth to the family and ,of course, to Missy and Jase Robertson, through this book. They are such great examples of hanging on through the hard and trusting God. Whether or not someone reading this book has themselves had similar hard times or not, I think this book is definitely worth anyone's read. That being said, if someone is facing similar hard times this is a great resource.
Booklover105 Stars Out Of 5honest and transparentNovember 8, 2015Booklover10Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I really enjoy Duck Dynasty and respect the Robertson family a lot. They are such a strong, Christian family who have been through the fire and been refined and have given so much glory to God for their lives and the journey they have walked.
Missy and Jase faced some major decisions when it came to the birth of their daughter Mia. She had a cleft lip and palate and needed surgery. This surgery would not just occur once at 3 months old, but would continue at different stages of her development. This wasn't a one-time fix. It was going to be a long journey. Missy did an excellent job explaining the problems it causes, the possible problems that I didn't know could occur with a child who has cleft problems, and even how the entire family had to adjust to the new family normal. Even the boys took on a few responsibilities and I loved it! Sometimes I wonder if I expect too much from my older two kids and this book showed me I didn't.
I love how all of the books the Robertson have written with such honesty and transparency. Missy shares about her thoughts and where her heart truly was throughout the different stages in the journey. She also shares how Jase struggled and how he felt through the different surgeries and doctor appointments. It was sweet to see a daddy's heart and his love for his daughter.
This book really shows how God took what was a bad situation and how God has used it for good and for his glory. Mia is going to do great things as she grows up! Thank you for sharing her story and for raising awareness about the challenges kids with cleft lips and palates face.
I received this book free from Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
Dr JSKAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Book Review: Blessed, Blessed, BlessedOctober 15, 2015Dr JSKAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Blessed, Blessed, Blessed: The Untold Story Of Our Familys Fight To Love Hard, Stay Strong and Keep The Faith When Life Cant Be Fixed, written by: Missy Robertson w/Beth Clark, is a book that strives to help its readers gain strength for their journey through life.
This book opens up a completely new understanding of Jase, Missy, and their little part of the Robertson clan. Upon these pages, readers will find the real life struggles and the joys of their faith that Missy and her family walked through during what were some difficult days for their marriage, their family, and their faith.
As the pages of this publication are turned, the Robertsons become more than a successful business and television family. They become real, more real than anyone ever could have imagined. As readers walk alongside of their family struggles, their hurts, their faith, they will no doubt grow in a multitude of ways, from the way they see their own families to how important they feel about their faith.
Also included are wonderful family pictures, pictures that pull the entire story behind the book into a more personal positon. These pictures reflect images of the beginning of Missy and Jases relationship, (which show a beardless Jase), to images of their growing family.
This book is HIGHLY recommended as a personal purchase and as a gift.

tickmenotKansas CityGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Serious Challenges, Determined FaithOctober 7, 2015tickmenotKansas CityGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Missy is wife of Jase Robertson who stars with his family on television's hit reality show, Duck Dynasty. No doubt viewers feel they know everything about this family because of their series, but that is far from the truth. This volume is partially an autobiography, and partially an account of the health crisis they have lived through with their youngest child, Mia. This book is an eye-opening account of the ordeal they have traveled since before her birth.
Because of a sonogram done while Missy was pregnant, the family knew ahead of time that Mia would have a cleft lip. However, how extensive it was, or if she would also have a cleft palate were unknown until the actual birth. Having that foreknowledge did allow them to investigate what the best treatment options were, and where to get them. That information served them well when Mia was born, and did have both conditions.
They vowed to help Mia, no matter what the cost.
This is a touching account of the numerous surgeries and onerous procedures Mia has undergone that began when she was seventeen days old. Missy relates how financially strapped they were because of the expense involved with these treatments. Their television show was not a part of their lives yet, and committing to getting this care for Mia was something they understood would take them years to pay for. They vowed to do anything possible to help their child no matter what it would cost them.
Missy also explains that cleft lip and pallet surgery is more for health reasons than cosmetic reasons. Without the procedures, a child can have many health problems including trouble breathing, eating and speaking. She also has lots of helpful advice and encouragement for other parents of children that have these issues.
Some blessings come with difficulties.
This book's title is very descriptive of Missy and Jase's life. The family has been blessed with three children. Their first two children, sons Reed and Cole, were born with no health problems, giving them two blessings. Despite all they have gone through with their youngest child Mia, she is their third blessing. The Robertsons believe that God has guided them through all the hard things they have faced. Without their Christian faith, they do not know how they would have survived it all.
I think most fans of the show will be surprised to learn Jase and Missy have been living through such an extensive ordeal. Despite the television episode that featured Mia before a surgery, I think the significance of her health issues, as well as, the seriousness of the operation, was down-played on the show. Like me, viewers will be stunned to hear about this medical struggle they have been facing.
I hope there will be an additional book about Mia and Jase's life that tells more of their story. This 5-star book ends with the present day, so Mia is still in the midst of invasive treatments. It would be great to have a future book that relates how Mia is doing. I would also like to hear more about Reed and Cole. Anyone who likes real-life stories, fans of Duck Dynasty or true medical stories will like this book. I recommend it.
