The music of CAIN has become a mainstay at radio since their debut single, the RIAA Gold® certified "Rise Up (Lazarus)," was released in early 2020. Since that moment, the three pastor’s kids from Alabama (Taylor Cain Matz, Madison Cain Johnson, and Logan Cain) have had multiple No. 1 radio hits, performed nationwide on their first headlining tour, and shared the stage with Christian music’s best like Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, and TobyMac. The trio even hosted the 2023 K-LOVE Fan Awards, created a Dove-nominated streaming series, and wrote their first children’s book: I’m So Blessed.
Apart from their multi-faceted work, CAIN finds their most enjoyment spending time at home in Nashville, TN with their families. Each member of CAIN welcomed their first children into the world in 2022 and have since continued growing their families even more with Logan and his wife having their second child in the fall of 2023 and both Taylor and Madison welcoming second babies in the fall of 2024 and spring of 2025. Pouring their joy into their music, CAIN has discovered what it’s like to live their calling while doing their favorite thing—singing about Jesus.
Upon moving from home school to public school, Logan Cain found himself out of his comfort zone. That was until he met Jared Johnson, and a lifelong friendship was born. Jared quickly became part of the Cain family by attending the family’s church, and he was even led to a relationship with Jesus by the Cain’s father, Pastor Charley Cain. Soon, Jared fell in love with his best friend’s sister and pastor’s daughter (Madison Cain), and in 2016, the two were married.
Initially, Jared put his degree in mechanical engineering to work as a design engineer in Nashville, TN. Then, in 2020, Jared left his engineering career behind and answered the call to the ministry by accepting an associate pastor role with The Hills Church. In this role, Jared helped create life-giving worship experiences while also overseeing the church’s small group ministry.
In 2022, the Lord brought about some life changes: first, a precious son, Calloway. Then, an opportunity that would allow Jared to travel with his musician wife and new son. Jared stepped down from his pastoring role and jumped on the tour bus with CAIN as part of their management team specializing in marketing and brand management.
