Yvette K.4 Stars Out Of 5Heartwarming Christmas NovellaDecember 30, 2016Yvette K.Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This was a lovely way to wrap up my Christmas reading and if I were to make a list of holiday novellas to reread in 2017, this would be on it. I did, however, skim over the excerpts from A Christmas Carol that began each chapter while also appreciating how suitably placed they were. Charlie (the heroine) would probably agree with this choice, though for her own reasons.
God Bless Us Every One is a heartwarming story of coming home, finding romance, learning to trust, forgiveness and reconciliation. I highly recommend it and count Eva Marie Everson as my final Inspirational author "find" of 2016.

Just Commonly4 Stars Out Of 5Relive the Christmas Carol today, and make sure you're not pulling an Ebenezer, yourself.September 22, 2016Just CommonlyQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Christmas in September, anyone? God Bless Us Every One by Eva Marie Everson is a "contemporary Christmas Carol" blending the themes of the classic A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens with the modern day realities and struggles. An enjoyable read, I particularly like the many references of the classic within the story, and quotes at the start of each chapter. Though I find Charlie and Dusty's romance sweet, it felt rushed. The underlying message of redemption, forgiveness and not being glued onto your past was well executed despite the short nature of a novella. The supporting characters created a great atmosphere for character development, and that makes the message even more pronounced. Short and sweet, a Christmas message for any time of the year.

This was a pretty cute story! I found myself adoring Charlie's sweet Grandma and blushing alongside Charlie every time her childhood crush showed up on the scene. The sassy, fun relationship between grandmother and granddaughter left a warmth in my heart that has me ready for all things wintry and snuggly and Christmasy. Add in some unexpected twists and turns, and you get such a sweet Christmas story of forgiveness, hope, and love.
I give God Bless Us Everyone by Eva Marie Everson...

Booklover104 Stars Out Of 5A delightful Christmas storySeptember 19, 2016Booklover10Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5It's not quite Christmas in July, but it's nice to get a little Christmas story in September.
I have enjoyed reading many books written by Eva Maria Everson, starting with the Potluck Club series. It has been fun to watch her develop as an author in a genre that is different from that series. She has grown as a writer with each book that she has written.
When the majority of people think about Christmas, one of the most famous stories comes to mind. Usually, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens sits at the forefront of our minds. It tells the story of Scrooge and the lessons he learned. It's a classic but is still a bestseller today.
Eva Marie Everson did a beautiful job weavingher story. In fact, sections of the story introduce each chapter. I enjoyed the initial argument that Charlene Dixon makes about not wanting to do a play by Dickens. She thinks it's old-fashioned and she'd much prefer to do a play that's more current. Something with remixes and not necessarily classic.
Dustin Kennedy and Charlene have both experienced some traumatic experiences in life. They both have to learn to forgive people in their lives and keep moving forward.
My favorite part in the story is when Charlene begins to realize why she may have an aversion to the classics. I had not thought to weave her revelation into the story like Everson did, but it was fabulous.
So kick off the fall season with a little bit of Christmas fun, or buy it and save it for a nice, short Christmas story.
I received this book free from Litfuse Publicity Group and Abingdon Press in exhcange for my honest opinion of this book.
Amelia5 Stars Out Of 5A Pure DelightSeptember 19, 2016AmeliaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Eva Marie's latest novella is a pure delight. Her story is filled with the comfort and joy that is desired during the holiday season. This book is well-written and focuses on the themes of forgiveness, faith, family, and trust. Charlie, who is the main character, revisits her hometown over the holidays and helps with the school play of "A Christmas Carol. " However, as her time there progresses Charlie is confronted with some personal issues she needs to resolve and is challenged to take a deeper look behind the meaning of the play and apply it to her life. Also, Charlie reconnects with an old crush from school, and the reader gets to experience a bit of romance at Christmas time. This book is a heartwarming story, but has an incredible depth that other novellas similar to this often lack. Everson definitely gives her audience a well-rounded story that leaves the reader wanting more.
Every year around October I get so excited because I know that is when new Christmas books start releasing. This is my first Christmas book of the season, and it does not disappoint. This needs to be at the top of your holiday reading list. Once you dive into the story and meet the characters, you will not want to stop reading. This was the first book I have read by Everson, but it won't be the last.
This book was given to me by Litfuse in exchange for my review.
