God Bless You and Good Night is a such a cozy and adorable bedtime storybook! This book will take you and your child(ren) through the starry-night bedtime routines of 10 different animal families. The animals included are giraffes, polar bears, otters, penguins, kangaroos, sloths, foxes, hedgehogs, meerkats, elephants, raccoons, rabbits, and red-tailed pandas. The bedtime routines in the book are very similar or relatable to the things like taking a bath, putting on night clothes (pj's) and reading a book. God Bless You and Good Night was written by Hannah Hall and illustrated by Steve Whitlow. It's filled with many beautiful pictures of animal families each page has a feel and touch sensory that will keep the child(ren) engaged in the story. The story is short and sweet and makes a great for a relaxing evening with your children before bedtime. The book is geared more towards boys and girls ages two through four years old which to us seems like an appropriate age. I love the fact there is a Bible scripture at the beginning of the book. The book reads verse Psalm 127:2 "The Lord Gives Sleep to Those He Loves". This is a calming assurance to children and a great way to teach them some of God's word.

I love the friendly fonts used in this book and how it is a playfully written in rhyme. Certain words are a different color and font than the rest the words, this is a great way to help children to recognize the words as they follow along and repeat them out loud.

The illustrations and artwork are so creative! Each page is filled with warm and cozy colors! This book will make a very nice gift for children for bedtime and help children better understand bedtime. The book cover is very durable which will help keep reduce the wear and tear of the book.

This is a charming board book to read as you tuck your toddler into bed for the evening and to focus a bit on God in the process. Sweet mommy and baby animals get ready for bed and think about their happy day that has just passed.

The "Touch and Feel" qualities in this book are minimal with some aspects being more prominent than others. It does give the little one something to seek out and find on the pages.

The little rhymes are sweet and are good reminders to blessings in the little one's life.

    A nice little book.

God Bless You and Good night by Hannah C Hall might not be most interesting bedtime story, but your little ones will LOVE the touch and feel!! My preschool and toddler both love the furry animals! Polar Bear, Otter, Kangaroo, Hedge Hog, and many more, they all have wonderful coats!! This is a great book to introduce your little ones to new animals and various textures! I would recommend this book for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.

God Bless You & Good Night (Touch and Feel)

    Written by Hannah C. Hall

    Illustrated by Steve Whitlow

    Synopsis

Cute and cuddly animal families prepare for bedtime. Parents help their little ones feel safe and loved as they go about their nighttime routines.

    About the Book

This beautiful, touch-and-feel board book opens and closes with a simple statement, "God bless you and good night."

Tucked in between, animals are doing all the things that kids do to get ready for bed: eating a quick snack, taking a bath, putting on pajamas, reading books, saying prayers, and snuggling with loved ones.

Kids will love hearing the rhythm and rhyme of playful words and touching the different surfaces on each two-page spread. Little fingertips will delight in exploring textures such as soft fur, smooth skin, glittery snow, and rough sand.

Best of all, the bedtime story will help children to remember to thank God for the day.

    My Thoughts

So simple. So sweet. God Bless You & Good Night is my favorite kind of book to read to little ones. I absolutely love the illustration style. I like the adorable-looking animals and soft, rich hues of the animals' environments. Very endearing.

Text is easy and fun to read. I love rhyme when it's done well! The story isn't too short or too long - only 18 pages. Perfect for a quick yet meaningful read.

I like how a few words or phrases on each page are printed in a different font and color. Words like tummy and yummy and phrases like scrub-a-dub and oh-so-sweet really stand out from the rest of the text. Adds to the playful mood of the story.

In my experience, toddlers seem to love being able to interact with books they read. The touch-and-feel element makes this book an excellent bedtime story choice!

    Book Rating: 5 stars.
