Rae5 Stars Out Of 5Integrates all your subjects!November 5, 2015RaeQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love how these guides integrate your phonics, Bible learning, reading, handwriting, art and composition, circle time, music, and even your snack time. Just start at the beginning of the lesson and it takes you through basically your whole morning. I added morning devotions (Jesus Calling for kids which is great!) and piano lessons and for some reason this doesn't include your math so I added BJU K5 math worktext (didn't bother with the teacher guide on that one). One thing to note is that you will want the BJU K5 Beginnings Worktext with these guides. I somehow missed that and had to order later. Other good things to add to this: BJU K5 Phonics Practice Worktext, BJU Beginnings Visuals, BJU K5 Write Now! Worktext, and the BJU Phonics Visual Charts. The CD and the Phonics Review cards are nice but not necessary to enjoy this curriculum. You DO have to put in some prep time with these guides. There is a short supply list at the beginning of each lesson. It's a good idea to prepare a week at a time. The activities are simple and don't require a lot of money. Just things like markers, candles, Jell-o, and paper lunch bags are needed. You will also need to add your own gym ideas since physical education is not included.

April5 Stars Out Of 5June 18, 2008AprilExcellent book! Easy to understand. Lots of options to keep your kindergardener busy for hours every day, and simple enough to teach straight phonics without all the bells and whistles. Their system of word families might bread laziness in reading. So I simply made my own charts once a week (takes 5 minutes) and combined all the new word families to give more of a challenge in reading. It's expensive but worth it.
