SoaringEagleUSAGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Great Resource!April 1, 2012SoaringEagleUSAGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What a neat way to learn history! Big Book of History: A 15 foot fold-out time-line from Creation to Modern Computers from MasterBooks would be a great way to see how our world changed, from creation to current times. Comes from a Christian view-point and a young-earth focus(a literal 24-hour day). Geared toward children ages 7-12. The time-line is colorful, divided into 4 categories, each a different color. They are Biblical/Christianity, World Events,Inventions/Technology and Civilizations/Empires. There are many color illustrations, charts, "Did You Know?" section, when items or inventions were created. It mentioned that the early civilization of Harappan (B.C.) had flush toilets and some of them were even more efficient than some of the ones that we have now in the 21st century. There truly is an abundance of information in this time-line and many opportunities to go down "rabbit" holes to dig deeper into a topic of interest.
I think this would be a good addition to your homeschool learning and recommend this to all homeschool families.
WriterRani5 Stars Out Of 5A Must Have Resource!December 10, 2011WriterRaniQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My Thoughts-
I loved the Big Book of History. Its panels folded out fifteen feet and were full of information.
B wanted to take a look at it as soon as I opened the package. He had fun unfolding the time-line and zooming along in history. B and I enjoyed laying on the floor learning about the history of the world.
C and I spent less time as this was not a current interest of hers, but she did enjoy the time she spent with me reading the information she wanted to learn.
I enjoyed everything. I thought the divisions of Biblical/Christianity, World Events, Inventions/Technology, and Civilizations/Empires was a great idea. It really helped put history into perspective for me.
I would highly recommend this book to everyone, because there is a lot to learn and it can be a lot of fun.

The Big Book of History is a fifteen foot poster that can be read as a poster or as a book! Beginning with creation and going all the way to present day, it is filled with fun facts and important dates, presented attractively, with colorful pictures and more.
I would happily read this book over and over again! It's just too much to fully appreciate the first time through, and I mean this in a totally complimentary way. I really liked how the dates were given with a Biblical timeline in mind, starting with creation.
The book/poster is so detail and well done yet done in an easy to understand way with children and families in mind. It comes in a clear plastic reusable protective folder, and measures 14 1/8'' by 8 1/2'' when folded up.
Fun and easy to use, I would highly recommend this book/poster to families and individuals, who are looking for a fun learning experience presented attractively, or just to have fun. The details and the facts and the fun "Did You Know's." The attention to being accurate and showing detail is just amazing, I don't think that anyone could not be pleased with this book :)
I received this book from New Leaf Publishers in returned for my honest opinion, which I have done my best to express here. Thanks :)
