The author, Dr. Dennis D. Frey, begins by defining key terms right at the very start to help the reader experience comfort in reading. This makes a more focused read that is very helpful in understanding the information in all pages.
Dr. Frey differentiates Christian counseling with Biblical counseling and clarified that these two are distinct in their approach in counseling discipline. A Christian counselor may not necessarily be using the Bible as his/her counseling tool, instead he or she applies secular counseling model or the integration of both secular and biblical model . In contrast, a Biblical counselor uses only the Holy Scripture as his/her main source of truth where "an infallible counseling methodology maybe derived."
