Sometimes readers just want to know what happens next. Dr. William Marty presents the entire narrative of the Bible in chronological order from creation to the New Testament Church. The action moves smoothly from story to story without slowing down for law, poetry, prophecy, or instruction. The Whole Bible Story is perfect for new Christians looking to understand the overall flow of the Bible or seasoned believers wanting a refresher course. It can be read straight through or used as a reference tool for better understanding of specific biblical events.
Dr. William H. Marty (ThD, Dallas Theological Seminary) is Professor of Bible at Moody Bible Institute and has published two textbooks, Surveying the New Testament and Survey of the Old Testament. He is unique among Bible college professors in that he teaches and writes on both the New and Old Testaments. Dr. Marty lives with his wife in Chicago.
I am a big fan of Dr. William Marty. Through the pages of this vivid storybook, we get to find out why hes been a favorite teacher among Bible students for decades. He is a true man of God and sees Scripture with such heart that you can feel its pulse on every page. - Beth Moore, Living Proof Ministries

kelisniAge: 25-34Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5Not exactly The Whole Bible StoryJune 28, 2011kelisniAge: 25-34Gender: femaleThe Whole Bible Story was a very interesting concept. I would only use the book for someone who is already saved. I believe in the working of the Holy Spirit through His Word for salvation. Besides that though, this was a very well laid out book. Obviously many details are left out; however, the overall theme is there.
The last chapter is the book of Acts and Paul's missionary journeys. I appreciate the fact that Dr. Marty didn't try to generalize Revelation, which I've had a hard time understanding the entire book.
I don't have much criticism for the book because Dr. Marty told the Bible story in his own words. I know I wouldn't be able to do any better than he.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for review from the publisher.
