Any little girl that is a child of God is His princess. Being a princess is the premise of this book. While this book has a princess theme it is not about being "daddy's little princess". It is geared towards stories in the Bible. All the pictures are very princess-like. There are 37 Bible stories filling the pages of this crown, heart, flowers and all things girly book. I think the drawings will appeal to girls who like to play dress up and pretend to be a princess. I received a free copy of this book from Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for my honest review.
The Bible stories can be read easily since they are short and easy to understand. I like how they are paraphrased in a way that makes them appropriate for a younger audience. This book is for children ages 1 through 4, but I could see 5 to 6 year olds liking it. Each includes a prayer and a little snippet that is encouraging. The illustrations are cute and cheerful.
The included stories from the Bible are ones that would be taught in Sunday school. I think this book could be read by a child who is an independent reader. Even if the child can read, I feel they would enjoy having the Bible stories read to them. This book made me smile as I read through it. I would recommend this happy little book for little girls and those who love them.
Step inside Bible Stories for his Beautiful Princess, and you are met with page after page of reminders of God's love and faithfulness. This sweet devotional for little girls overflows with simple prayers to pray with your little one, as well as short Bible points and lovely Bible stories told in an easy, and understandable way. Having two little girls myself, I watched as they turned the pages, in delight. My youngest princess totes around this devotional at times and shares the stories and pictures with others!
The illustrations are also charming and filled with an array of pastels that are beautiful and elegant. Each page has beautifully drawn characters that capture the story from a child-like perspective. Dietrich's use of color and imagination is evident on every page.
This book is sure to be a hit with any princess, Shepherd has done an exceptional job of taking Bible stories and truths and writing them into an easy to follow format. Each page of this devotional holds concise and sweet reminders and prayers connecting who God is to how He worked in the lives of the people in the Bible, and how He continues to love and draw near to us today. Shepherd also reinforces the value of the reader and makes each princess feel special to God. Adults will love giving this sweet book to the little princesses in their lives.

This is a cute hardcover book for young girls (ages 1- preschool). The 37 well-known bible stories are from both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Each mini story has a title. Included in each story is a bible verse, the story, a princess prayer, and a princess jewel. The jewel is a one sentence summary for encouragement. The stories are super short and reflect the "positives". There is an illustration for each story; they are simple but with enough detail that they really add a lot. Princess illustrations are on the prayer/jewel pages. A good little bedtime storybook especially for girls that like the whole princess thing.
To Tyndale: I can envision this in a boy's version.

Bible Stories For His Beautiful Princess by Sheri Rose Shepherd is a wonderful sweet book for the young girl in your life. I have purchased other devotionals for my older daughters but hadn't found one I liked for my 5 year old. She isn't a reader yet, so I wanted something with pictures and simple devotions. I didn't want something that was "dumbed" down but a book that would help her develop the habit of reading her Bible, thinking about it and praying. Bible Stories for His Beautiful Princess does just this.
Bible Stories for His Beautiful Princess has 37 great "stories", which is more than a lot of Bible story books do. Each story has a key verse (either from that passage or one that pertains to it), the story, a Princess Prayer and Princess Jewel (a key take away point from that story). It is simple, beautiful and such a great tool to help your young girl grow in God.
If you are looking for a wonderful devotional to get your 3 to 7 year old. This is the one. This would make a great gift for your daughter, granddaughter, niece or little friend.

Bible Stories for His Beautiful Princess is a truly sweet way to share God's love for us with the little girl in your life. The illustrations are just precious. The pictures portray the various Bible stories, but there are also drawings of little girls dressed as princesses and ballerinas at the end of each story.
The Bible stories are sweet and not scary, perfect for very young children. They focus on God's love for all of us. I read this book to my two youngest girls, aged five and seven, and they really liked it. They are old enough that they know some scary Bible stories and the oldest truly understands about sin in the world. But for younger children, preschool-aged little ones, coming across a scary story or disturbing picture can be troublesome before a bedtime reading. You will not have to worry about that with this sweet Bible.
After each story, there is a "Princess Prayer" that you can pray with your little girl and a "Princess Jewel". The "Princess Jewel" is like a little nugget of wisdom at the end of the Bible story, to help the child remember what they have learned. For example, at the end of the story of The Burning Bush, the "Princess Jewel" is "Sometimes God does special things to help us see and hear Him."
My seven year old daughter came into the room while I was writing this review and told me that she really has liked reading this Bible with me each night. That is probably the best recommendation that I could possibly give this collection. She enjoyed it and I love having something special to read with my girls.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Tyndale in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.
