If you have struggled to learn what it means to live your life with God or if you have been looking for a fresh way to read the Bible, The Life with God Bible will help you rediscover Scripture as living text, rich with insights into how to live your life more intimately with the Creator.
Spearheaded by bestselling authors Richard J. Foster (Celebration of Discipline) and Dallas Willard (The Divine Conspiracy), alongside the foremost names in Christian spirituality and biblical scholarship, The Life with God Bible introduces the concept of the "with-God life," a model for seeing the whole of Scripture as the unfolding story of God's plan for our loving relationship with God. This theme weaves throughout the essays and study notes, while the concrete practices and Spiritual Disciplines, such as prayer, worship, fasting, and celebration, will help you discover a deeper relationship with God and transform you into the likeness and character of Jesus.
Combining the depth of a study Bible with the warmth of a devotional Bible, The Life with God Bible makes Scripture come alive as you learn to read the text in a fresh way, not as something to be mastered, but as a story to enter and a lifestyle to pursue.

Robert Caldwell3 Stars Out Of 5Great content, but tiny print!September 28, 2016Robert CaldwellQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3I looked forward to receiving this Bible as it is an update and expansion of the "Spiritual Formation Bible." While the content is great, I am quite disappointed in two areas: (1.) The print of the Bible text is uncomfortably small, probably 7 or 8 pt. (2.) The study notes are actually darker and easier to read than the text of the Scripture! That should not be!
The Bible does not have gilt edges not color maps, and this would be a welcome plus.
Dr. Ben Low2 Stars Out Of 5Mixed Feelings About This Edition of The Life With God BibleDecember 10, 2015Dr. Ben LowQuality: 2Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2I bought this Bible because it uses the New Revised Standard Version, has the Deuterocanonical Books and has study helps written by renowned scholars and practitioners of spiritual direction. I am, however, disappointed by the poor quality of its imitation leather plus the Bible has no gold edges. I thus have mixed feelings about this Bible. If only the publishers can allow me to exchange it for a genuine leather edition!
handysimon5 Stars Out Of 5best biblical perspective of spiritual formationNovember 17, 2015handysimonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Reading the Life With God Bible is the best way to establish a biblical foundation of spiritual formation. At the preface of the bible, the editor gives a theological frame work of spiritual formation and then through out the bible, there's a commentary of scriptures with the spiritual formation lens.
Jason4 Stars Out Of 5I like this BibleJune 9, 2015JasonQuality: 3Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5This Bible is an interesting mix. It's not quite a study Bible, but it has some great articles and notes. It's not quite a devotional, but it offers a lot to think about. It's commentary is ecumenical, but it doesn't pull punches or lower the bar. At 7"x5", it is smaller than a typical reading Bible, but at 2" thick it's definitely packed full of content. The paper and print quality are good for the price, but lacks the bling of gold gilt page edges (I rather appreciate its humble appearance). The text is small, but it's still easy for me to read for long periods of time (I'm nearsighted, your usage my vary). If you are looking for a portable Bible that you can really *use* without white gloves, that is ecumenical and non-denominational, and that offers guidance on spiritual formation & suggestions on how to grow in your relationship with God, and relates those topics with brief relevant commentary at the bottom of each page of biblical text, then this Bible might be for you.
