I received a free copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The Bible Recap Journal: Your Daily Companion to the Entire Bible is a 384 journal to use alongside The Bible Recap podcast or book. Each day of the year has a page with the exact same three questions:

Things I loved/learned/noticed, Questions/things I want to research, and God Shot.

The end of the book has some additional pages for notes. There are only four lines to write under each question, which some might find is not enough.

I'm a huge fan of The Bible Recap and was super excited when I discovered a study guide AND a journal were coming out this year. I love how The Bible Recap follows a chronological Bible reading plan that only takes 15-30 minutes to read each day. Tara-Leigh Cobble helps you see the entire picture of the Bible and how God uses every story for His grand story. I highly recommend her work!

This is the third Bible Recap product I get my hands on and review. I have been using The Bible Recap One Year guide and have just received the study guide along with this journal. I love the Bible recap products, they are helpful, simple, and complement my daily Bible reading. So I was excited when I learned that a journal was coming out. However, I was a bit disappointed when I flipped it open.

I'm not sure that a journal was needed in this line of products. This one has nothing special and you can easily replicate the contents on a dollar tree notebook and save $15. As you might have guessed, this journal follows the Bible Recap plan. Each page makes reference to the day's reading portion and is followed by three prompts; "Things I Love/learned/ noticed", "Questions/things I want to research", and "God Shot." You're only given 4 short lines to write your response underneath each prompt. There is a verse at the bottom of the page and that's it. That's literally all this journal contains. While I like the idea of a Bible Recap journal, I was expecting a little more. Maybe more in-depth prompts? Maybe a larger journal with more space to write? I get that this line of products has been very successful and the publisher is eager to profit off their products but quality goes a long way than just the name brand.

Due to my commitment to honesty, I cannot recommend this journal. Save yourself some money and get a notebook instead.

I received a complimentary copy of this journal from Bethany House in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

The Bible Recap Journal is a convenient accompaniment for readers following the Bible study The Bible Recap by Tara Leigh Cobble. While the journal is not a required component of the study, it may be helpful for some readers by providing a printed, concise space for recording thoughts and reflections. The price seems high for what is contained in the journal. For comparison, other resources for The Bible Recap contain study material whereas the journal is simply a daily repetition of three questions. However, convenience may be worth the cost for some readers.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in order to write an honest, unbiased review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

    Great Resource

The Bible Recap Journal by Tara-Leigh Cobble is a beautiful way to enhance your journey through reading through the Bible. Tara-Leigh offers this resource as a companion to her podcast. Each page offers a space to write the date, a portion of scripture to read (in chronological order), things I loved/learned/noticed, questions/things I want to research, and a God Shot. The bottom of each page features either a prayer or scripture, or thought provoking insight. There are so many resources go along with the Bible Recap series and this is a great addition. This book could also be used alone, without any of the other resources.

I appreciate having a resource for writing down thoughts and being able to reflect back upon them. I was given a free copy from the publisher for my honest review, which I was happy to do. I hight recommend this excellent resource.
