I was looking for a crossword puzzle that was Biblically based throughout, in order to sharpen my scripture memory skills. Unfortunately this particular book as well as Volume 2, as I purchased both, proved to be a great disappointment! The Title states, "BIBLE CROSSWORDS", not Bible plus irrelevant trivia. The information on the back alludes to the fact that "Based on the King James Version of scripture, some clues and answer are drawn from other fields of study for added variety."

Added variety? Please explain how topics like Sigmund Freud , golf, lent, and Cleopatra etc. really have to do with the Bible especially considering the fact that the heading on the page specifically states: "PARABLES of JESUS!" I found myself exceedingly frustrated in that I had to look up over half of the questions in that the clue was either exceedingly obscure, or the answer was not something most people would readily know. I also found the few Biblical questions to be somewhat "patronizing" in that they were at an "elementary level" especially compared to the other questions, which I found to be insulting.

Instead of finding this relaxing and enjoyable, I found it to be highly frustrating, as well as annoying, and believe it should be titled, "Your Typical Crossword Puzzle with some Biblical overtones." If I had wanted a typical crossword puzzle, I would have purchased one. I felt this was exceedingly misleading and very disappointing. A "Worldly wolf" in sheep's clothing to say the least.
