JewelsOrange CaAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Best Christmas present-it gives for a lifetime!December 26, 2013JewelsOrange CaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I get a new volume for my friends' kids every year!!! The parents love them, the kids can hardly wait! We own all the sets including the history ones! My kids listen to them every night when they go to bed! They know their Bible history inside and out!
I do recommend that the adult preview "the temple tower" story. It is historically accurate, but for young children it IS NOT a bedtime story!
AnonymousGeorgiaAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Good Clean EntertainmentDecember 14, 2012AnonymousGeorgiaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Considering what entertainment is these days and how graphic it can be, I'd say these are very well done and worth listening to. However, some may say that the writters for Your Story Hour embellished the stories too much or are biased.
I'm listening to them for the first time in almost 19 years, so I really don't remember them. I'm listening to them with a "Fresh Pair of Ears" and this is what I've found...
I was a bit disappointed in how they didn't have Adam and Eve talking directly to God... but to an Angel ( I assume ), but they never clarify who. It could have been "Jesus", because He talks about God in the Third Person. ***But that's the only unbiblical thing I could find.
Because as soon as they eat the fruit, the bible says that they blamed each other... so it's very likely they argued with each other for the first time.
*** They do improve as you go along ***
If anyone has any concerns about how they have written and acted out these stories, then I suggest that you write to Your Story Hour directly - outlining what it is exactly that you find wrong with their Bible Stories.
Things can not change unless you are willing to speak up.
I will update this if need be. For me personally, they are exactly what I need - good clean entertainment and better yet a Christian one.
JoannaAge: 35-445 Stars Out Of 5Great CD!April 12, 2012JoannaAge: 35-44Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Even if you have other Bible story CD's, try this one as well. These CD's have a different and lovely approach to presenting Bible stories. They also have a series on famous people. These CD's are especially great for long trips in the car.
JennyKeller, TXAge: 35-44Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Not biblically accurate...would not recommendFebruary 21, 2012JennyKeller, TXAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I bought this based on the good biographical and fictional stories I have heard online by Your Story Hour. I will not be purchasing anymore Bible stories though. I have listened only to the Creation story on the first cd, and I was very disappointed. They are not an accurate Biblical rendering. I just can't bring myself to listen to the rest. The stories are very imaginative and add a lot to the Biblical account, which I could get past because we really don't know everything about Adam and Eve, but the whole of their dialogue struck me wrong. The reason I rate these as "poor" across the board is the way they change the biblical account in subtle ways, and thus some important concepts about God. For example, an unknown, unnamed person was speaking as a mediator between Adam and God, saying "God wants you, Adam, to name all the animals." I want a story that sticks to the Bible and says that God created each animal and God brought them to Adam to name (Gen 2:19). The cd gives the idea that God did not speak to, or interact directly, with Adam. When Adam is created he asks to see God, and this voice only tells him that "God's abode is in heaven". Later, this voice tells Adam "You are the Prince of this world". Where have you heard that before and why did the producers choose that title for Adam? (See John 12:31, John 14:30, etc.) I sha'n't go on, as this review is too long already, but I hope you get the idea of how these stories have been written.

They were an excellent foundation of Biblical history. They are accurate to scripture and appropriate for young ears. The script and acting are high quality. After getting the 5 volumes for our family, we have started buying a second set to lend out. (Our set gets used too much to lend.)
