The quality is amazing, the pages durable, it's beautiful to look at and the tools are very helpful.
The facing pages is an enormous help when comparing the languages.
I would recommend this Bible to anybody studying Hebrew in an instant.
The only problem, and it is minimal, is that the pages turn left to right (Hebrew Style) so when you are reading the English, you have to remember to turn the page backwards.
Gary Michael5 Stars Out Of 5High quality; good combination of featuresSeptember 25, 2012Gary MichaelQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5This BHS/ESV is exactly what I've been wanting for a while, since it contains the textual apparatus. It's an excellent tool for research, especially for those (like me) who read English much better than Hebrew. I think it's a better option in that case than a Reader's Hebrew Bible. It's also a great companion to the NA27/RSV parallel (soon to be NA28/NRSV/REB). Crossway also has an NA28/ESV on the way. I also like the fact that the English translation is the ESV, which is, I believe, one of the better English translations that we have today.
The quality of this book is extremely high, especially the cover and binding. Even though the pages are thin due to its size, that's not objectionable. The only complaint I have is about the page numbering. All the pages, Hebrew and English, are numbered sequentially instead of separately like the NA27/RSV. This makes it necessary to consult a separate BHS to determine page numbers for citations in footnotes, etc.
Q: Are the translations on facing pages? For instance if I open the OT to page 100 will Hebrew be on one page and the translation on a facing page 100?
Yes, one page will show the English rendering of a passage while the facing page will show the Hebrew.
Q: Vowel points? Does the Hebrew text contain the vowel points on this product?
Yes, vowel points are included in the Hebrew text.
Q: What font size would this be? I use a font size pt 14 for my usual bible. Anything between a size 11-14 would be ideal. Can you recommend any other Hebrew bible (does not need to be parallel) in this size range?
This particular font is 9 pt. However, the largest font size we offer for the Hebrew Bible would be 12 pt in the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS) Standard Edition: Stock No. ww56160X.
