HeidiMarie3 Stars Out Of 5Beyond The CastleNovember 14, 2017HeidiMarieQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3This review was written for Beyond the Castle: A Guide to Discovering Your Happily Ever After.Jodi Jean Dreyer is a Disney veteran, having worked for the company for 30 years in 22 different positions. This book is a collection of some of her fondest Disney memories, and her advice for finding your own happily ever after.
This book is all about how to live your life the best way that you can. Dreyer shares her experience on how to live a life full of hope, joy, and magic. She shared fun Disney facts, such as the official criteria for a Disney princess. It is very obvious how much Dreyer loves Disney.
I though Dreyer had great advice for how to live a more happy and fulfilling life. However, I had expected and wanted more of an inside look at Disney. What I got in this book was a self-help book told in Disney metaphors.
Overall, I gave this 3/5 stars. I'd recommend this book if you're looking for a fun book to teach you how to live a happier life.

disneymom3 Stars Out Of 5Beyond The CastleOctober 12, 2017disneymomQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 2This review was written for Beyond the Castle: A Guide to Discovering Your Happily Ever After. This was a fun, lighthearted book to read. Not much in the way of deep spiritual truths, but what would you expect from a former Disney Co. cast member. She is probably a terrific motivational speaker, and I can see why she rose so high in the Disney ranks, but other than her profession of faith, not a lot of biblical insight. HOWEVER, it was very interesting reading about the inner workings of Mouse World. Maybe the title should have been "Inside the Castle" rather than "beyond."

I was very disappointed to find that it is very basic Disney information of what the company teaches and expects of the employees. I was under the impression that this book would be more detailed and personal. It does not cover much faith as I was looking forward to. It does speak of God, but not as much as the cover would make you believe. If you want a good book on being a good leader, dealing with the corporate world or employers then this is a good read.
I would recommend this book to any person that would want to advance their career and get some pointers on how to be professional and established as a leader. It is a very light and fluffy read, that can be read front to cover or just pick a chapter and read. This book is a very fast read.
