Kelley Hornberger5 Stars Out Of 5November 6, 2009Kelley HornbergerThis book was an excellent read! It was so enthralling I had it finished in less than 3 days. Dave Hess has lived an amazing experience and it is only fitting that he share it with everyone. This was fitting for me as I am dealing with some hard health issues and Dave's book has given me hope, courage and strengthened my faith during difficult times. This is a must read for anyone struggling in life. The message he shares will lift you up...and the questions he has you ponder bring you to a deeper level in your faith walk. An awesome book and well worth the money!
Esther5 Stars Out Of 5October 5, 2008EstherThis book is much more than one man's story of defeating the clutches of death. It is permeated with love and caring for others struggling with similar circumstances. Is there anyone who does NOT know of at least one person in your acquaintance that is facing a life-threatening situation? What a special way to give them a thread of "Hope" for their future? The unique gift of communication Pastor Dave has makes it so easy to read. Don't miss it!

Tell us a little about yourself. I am the father of 3 adult children. I'm married to my best friend, Sheri, for the past 30+ years. Together, we pastor Christ Community Church in Camp Hill, PA.
What was your motivation behind this project? Ten years ago, my family and I faced one of our greatest challenges. I was diagnosed with a deadly strain of leukemia. Walking through this trial, we encountered a God who can heal our bodies and restore our hope.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Hope and encouragement. I want to touch the hearts of those who are walking through difficult days. I wrote this book with honesty and compassion. I want to provide a place for people to think, feel, laugh, cry...and have their hope restored.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This was a labor of love. For all of us. Reliving the whole experience brought back all kinds of memories. Good ones. And painful ones. Yet, above it all--we received a fresh reminder of the great faithfulness of the Lord in our times of need.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I have been greatly inspired by authors- Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, James Goll, Fawn Parrish, Brennan Manning, Rob Bell, and Corrie Ten Boom.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: When you struggle, stumble, or fall...Jesus is the safest place to land. He is quick to forgive us; willing to accept us where we are; glad to walk with us on our journey; and powerful to heal and restore us!
