Loraine4 Stars Out Of 5Well written legal thriller - I loved it.July 11, 2018LoraineQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0I really enjoyed this story of intrigue and romance. The depth of feeling that the story brought to the issues of immigration and children was outstanding and relevant. I've never considered myself a fan of legal thrillers, but I love the way this author pulled me right into that world. Full Review at my website.
LucyWVAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Heart Pounding Legal ThrillerApril 26, 2018LucyWVAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Im now a new fan of legal thrillers. Ive read a couple that to me werent impressive, but this author hit it out of the ballpark with this heart pounding.-page turning novel. It keeps you engrossed without being over the top and the subject is current and grabs your heart for justice to be found for this young man who doesnt have a voice. Hayden is believable as a determined lawyer who puts it all on the line to seek justice for her clients. Does she have room in her life for a new romance? Well you will have to read to find out. You meet her friends in this novel and wonder what their stories are. I look forward to book two to find out who is the heroine in it. This is well written with characters that grow and are well developed that you can connect with. Add the faith element and you have a winner.

KimP4 Stars Out Of 5Beyond JusticeJanuary 30, 2018KimPQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Beyond Justice by Cara Putman is a legal suspense thriller. I was afraid that this would be another book full of legal talk but it wasnt. Cara gave enough information so that you could follow the court proceedings but you were not overwhelmed. The suspense level was not very high as you were mainly trying to figure out who was hiding what, instead of a lot of action. Overall, I liked the book and would recommend it.
I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
Kym4 Stars Out Of 5Is the truth worth the risk?January 13, 2018KymQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What would you do if, as an attorney working your way up the ladder, given a case no one else wants? And you shortly discover there is more at stake than you thought. Lives, including yours, now hang in the balance.
Hayden McCarthy is put exactly in that deadly position. As she uncovers the truths being hidden she begins having to fight against the same government she works for. The premise of this story sucked me in right away. Dangerous political secrets. corrupt people, immigrants, determination that Hayden showed in bringing the truth to light. Everything about this story was on point! The story was easy to follow and hard to set down to do other things. I was happy to discover this is the first in a series and I am looking forward to jumping back into the political intrigue and dangers.
*I received this book free from Thomas Nelson and The Fiction Guild in exchange for my honest review. What I have expressed about the story are entirely my own thoughts and I was not financially compensated in any way.*
KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Awesome Legal ThrillerOctober 26, 2017KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I think I'm going to have to stop saying I'm not into legal thrillers because this is the second one in as many weeks that totally floored me. The legal backdrop brings an interesting edge to the suspense as does the Washington political scene. What a gnarly, twisted mess it all is!
And Hayden's smack in the middle after she lands an intriguing case at the same time an equally intriguing man enters the picture and I don't know which thrilled me more. Well, maybe Andrew gets my vote as most thrilling. :-) He's interested, she's not, they both have complicated lives...the perfect foundation to start a lasting relationship, right? Plus Adam is a dog person. You can't go wrong with a hero who has a dog.
The suspense builds from seemingly unrelated incidents and I love the way the author pulls all the pieces together. Slow, deliberate, evenly paced 'aha' moments until the frantic breakneck speed to the finish line! Kept me glued to the page, anxious to figure it all out.
A great cast of secondary characters -- particularly some up and coming lawyer friends of Hayden's -- bring depth to the story. Loved Emilie, Andrew's cousin and Hayden's roommate, and am excited because the next book in the Hidden Justice series is about her -- look for Imperfect Justice in December. I will be!
