We love The Berenstain Bears and these Light the Way books are a great of introducing scripture to our kids. Written for early readers, they bring me back to my own days of early reading. And I love sharing these characters with my children.

The first story, Faith Gets Us Through, shows Papa taking his Scout Cubs exploring Spooky Cave. Although Papa knows everything about caves, the cubs just aren't sure. Can they get over their fears to get through the cave?

In the second story, Do Not Fear, God is Near, Sister Bear is afraid of lots of things. As she struggles to overcome her fears, she learns that God is near to offer comfort.

The final story, Piggy Bank Blessings (also my favorite), shows Brother and Sister Bear learning to save their money for just the right moment. Will they use their money selfishly? Or will they use it to be a blessing?

The stories are written well at a young readers level. Although they are not exceptionally deep, they introduce the concepts in a readable way and allow for lots of discussion. This hardcover book is bound well and presented beautifully. This is surely a book that will hold up well over time. My favorite part is that the stories are classic and the characters are lovable.

The age range of 4-8 years is perfect for both the concepts and the reading level. This is a great collection for continuing on "Bear Adventures."

I love this title by Stan and Jan Berenstain. It brings the beloved Berenstain Bears to my newly reading five-year-old in a I Can Read Level 1 book. This particular title is three books in one. It includes, Faith Gets Us Through, Do Not Fear God is Near, and Piggy Bank Blessings. Each selection tells a faith based story with an easy to understand bottom line.

My favorite of the three was Do Not Fear, God is Near. My son often struggles with being afraid. I feel this must be common at his age, but I would still like to empower him with the ability to overcome his fears. For our family, knowing God is our protector is the best avenue. These books are great because they are a teaching tool for my kids. My son sat with me as we read all three and he was delighted.

With all of the options in reading materials for early readers, I love chpices like these three books. They provide a positive message with long loved characters. The illustrations are clear and just as wonderful as the original series. I feel the age range for this book is 4-6. My seven-year-old has not shown any interest in this title.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book by its publisher and BookLookBloggers in exchange for an honest review. I have not been compensated.

The Berenstain Bears: God Shows the Way by Stan & Jan Berenstain includes three books within one cover. These are the favorite bears that you'll remember from your own childhood.

The illustrations are just what I remembered. Each story includes an important moral lesson although these three stories are more focused on being Christian, including praying during difficult situations and depending on God to get through what seems impossible.

I liked that these stories were gentle, used easy to understand language and depicted credible situations that a child could easily relate to. I think this book would be good for kids aged 4 to 7 and it would make a nice gift or addition to a book collection in a church nursery.

We received this book complimentary from Book Look in exchange for an honest review. This book is a sturdy brightly colored hardback reader containing three stories. My children enjoyed the stories. I have one child sensitive to scary images and the pictures were a bit much. I felt the scripture use in 'Faith Gets Us Through' was a bit forced but nonetheless was happy it quoted so much scripture. It would have been nice if 'Piggy Bank Blessings' spoke about tithing as well as saving and spending. Overall, we were pretty happy with the stories.

    thank you Book Look!

I received this book in exchange for a fair review through BookLook Bloggers. This book is an I can read book. Level 1. It is a collection of 3 stories: Faith gets us through, Do not fear God is near, and Piggy Bank Blessings. All 3 stories contain some teaching on a principle with scripture interwoven; Trust, Fear and lastly stewardship. Mama Bear refers to these as things from the Good Book.

I appreciated having something wholesome to read my kids, along with some value teaching and passages of scripture. I have always loved the Berenstain Bears, they are sweet, cute and fairly simple. I found the scripture references, and wording to be somewhat old-school and I had to explain them to my boys- ages 7 and 10. Also as far as the kids reading them, they were much harder than the typical Level 1, I Can Read books. I felt like these were regular stories that have been adapted with scripture added in to resell to a different market? Not sure, but they seemed wordy and some thoughts out of place at times.

Good stories overall, but not the quality I was hoping for.
