If you are looking for a suspenseful, heart-pounding, non-stop action mystery have you read this book yet?? If you have not, I highly recommend you give it a try. This story hooked me in with its talons at the very first sentence and kept its hooks in me until the very end. It was one of those stories I just could not look away. Very well done, Ms. Coble!

Dana Newell has suffered far too long at the hands, and words, of her abusive fiance. Finally she has stood up for herself and has returned to Rock Harbor, her home town. With her, however, comes danger and the threat of her own life. A budding serial killer is on the loose and Rock Harbor is hiding secrets that could become fatal. With death around every corner, is there any hope for escape?

I didn't know what to expect since this was my first Rock Harbor book and I'm not sure I've read anything else by Colleen Coble but she is a very good mystery writer! I never saw the identity of the Groom Reaper coming and even after I was pretty sure that's who it was, I needed the written confirmation to prove it. Very good story! I would like to read the other books in the series now.

A crazy twisty, turny, heart-in-throat, tummy-flip-flopping read! I'm still catching my breath. Partly because Coble takes us back to Rock Harbor - sqqquueeaaaal -- and Bree and her hero dog, Samson play a major role in this adventure -- double sqqqquuueeeaaalll. Mildly hyperventilating here because the first ever Colleen Coble book I read was Without a Trace, book 1 in this series and the beginning of Bree's story. So reading Beneath Copper Falls is like coming full circle and it's full of favourite characters from the other books. Mind you, it could still be read as a standalone for those who aren't familiar with this awesome series.

This romantic suspense with a creepy stalker vibe kept me up at night trying to piece together clues and draw seemingly diverse threads together. There just never seemed to be a good place to put the book down! And it wasn't only the mystery that thrilled me -- the romance is divine! Dana with her resolve to take her life back. Boone dedicated to helping her do just that. He's a protector and she's running scared -- a relationship develops in the midst of tragedy which makes the tender bits all the sweeter.

A thrilling addition to one of Colleen Coble's most loved series.

Colleen Cobles latest suspenseful tale is also a welcome return to Rock Harbour which is a series that I have read some but not all of the available titles.

911 dispatcher Dana Newel has returned to her family home after escaping an abusive relationship. But she soon realises that sometimes that even in the most tranquil of settings can still not fully protect us from the outside world - as the very things she ran from have followed her here.

This was a truly suspenseful tale with lots of twists and turns - there seemed to be multiple possible baddies and just the right amount of romance as well.

The setting was also magically rendered - vivid description so that you could almost feel the chill of the air and the frozen landscape. Very atmospheric.

Recommended reading especially on a cold, rainy weekend curled up by the fire of course.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via The Fiction Guild, and was not required to post a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own.

This review was written for Beneath Copper Falls - eBook.
Beneath Copper Falls is a fast-paced mystery, suspense, and romance all crafted into one story. It centers around Dana Newell, a 911 operator who escapes an abuse partner and returns to Copper Falls; and Boone Carter, a local man still trying to come to terms with the brutal murder of his sister. Together, they try to make sense of a string of murders, and whether or not they are connected to his sister's death, or to Dana's violent ex-fiance.

I really enjoy Colleen Coble's writing, and I really enjoy reading suspenseful books. The characters were well-developed and likable (at least the ones who were meant to be likable) and it was easy to root for Dana and Boone. The story moved quickly, and built in intensity right up until the climactic finale.

My one real gripe is that I figured out who the killer was halfway through the book. It didn't completely stop me from enjoying the rest of the book, because I still got to see how it all played out. However, it was very frustrating to know more than the characters, and at certain points I wanted to yell at them, "How can you not see who it is??"

Overall though, it was a well-written, fast-paced read. I just wish I hadn't solved the mystery SO much sooner than the characters.
