Lights in a Dark WorldGender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Another great read, lots of suspense!September 16, 2017Lights in a Dark WorldGender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5When Dana Newell moves back to her home town of Rock Harbor, she thought she'd be starting over, free from her abusive fianc. However, there are many secrets and dangers she wasn't aware of in her hometown. As she tries to help her new friend Boone unravel the mystery of his sister's murder, they find more questions than answers. Will her ex-fianc finally leave her alone so she can move on with her life? Will they be able to find the murderer before he strikes again?
Colleen Coble has written another amazing story! It will keep you on the edge of your seat from page one. The suspense grabbed me from the very beginning and kept me guessing until the very end. While this is a part of the Rock Harbor series, I have not read any of the rest of the series and I didn't feel lost, so it definitely can stand alone. So what are you waiting for? Go grab your copy and get started, you will want to read this one!
**I received this book free from the publisher through the Fiction Guild program. I was not required to write a positive review and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
SBMV5 Stars Out Of 5another nail-biting suspense from CobleSeptember 9, 2017SBMVQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Ah. Colleen Coble. Can't go wrong with her romantic suspense novels. In this latest installment, we revisit Rock Harbor and all the wonderful characters like Bree, Kade, Laurie, Mason, and the gang. This book can be read as a stand-alone. But if you've been following Bree and Kade's life and adventure, it's nice to see them settled into a wonderful family routine.
The setting of Rock Harbor, especially in the winter and the snow storms, is a chilling backdrop for a great suspense novel. Ms. Coble's writing is fast-paced and the anticipation of "what will happen next?!?!" totally keeps the pages turning well into the night. The twists and turns in the story really took me for a roller coaster ride.
Boone is a successful outfitter and an ex-smoke jumper who's given up on finding love due to his scars from a work-related injury. His emotional scars run very deep and he can't seem to climb out of his bitterness and isolation.
Dana is a sweet-tempered and loving woman returning to Rock Harbor after a rocky relationship. She reconnects with Bree and Boone's cousin Allyson as the plot literally thickens and she's thrown into danger.
The path to forgiveness and belief in the omnipotent, omniscient, and loving God is riddled with self-doubt, fading memories, and fresh hurts but this path becomes smoother for both Boone and Dana as they walk it together.
I recommend this book for anyone who loves Christian romantic suspense.
I received ARC of the book from Thomas Nelson via NetGalley. I was not required to write a review or write a favorable review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
Cynthia5 Stars Out Of 5Engaging & IntriguingSeptember 7, 2017CynthiaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I received this book from The Fiction Guild. I was not asked to give a favorable review. All I can say is wow. This is a wonderful continuation of the series. It has so many twist and turns with this story but keeps the strength of each individual available to figure out who does the killing in this book. I couldn't put it down when they started figuring out who the killer was and surprised me in the end. But I love that each of them brought their strengths to help investigate the death that occurred and looked into other same crimes. Colleen writes such wonderful books that they draw you in from the beginning to the end. I look forward to more from this series.
ShaiNorfolk, NEAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5so much suspense!August 27, 2017ShaiNorfolk, NEAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Beneath Copper Falls is another addition to the Rock Harbor collection. Three words describe this book: so much suspense! Colleen Coble does it again with intriguing characters and a power packed novel. I loved Boone and the way his tender heart is hidden beneath his hurt. Scarred for doing his job, he's battling the urge to care for another woman after Esther broke his heart. Dana Newell goes from one bad relationship to defending herself against a killer and she doesn't even know she's doing it.
Colleen Coble weaves suspense and romance wonderfully in Beneath Copper Falls. The action was consistent and every page had me wanting another.
tumcsecTuscaloosa, ALAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5lots of suspenseAugust 23, 2017tumcsecTuscaloosa, ALAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I enjoy reading books by Colleen Coble and this one was the most suspenseful I've read to date. There were so many elements to what was going on and accidental deaths seemed just that at the beginning. But so much more was happening underneath the surface, no pun intended! I was totally shocked at who the perp was and what he had done for years. He had a really warped mind and his reasoning was off the wall. Not to give anything away but you'll be shocked too!
Heart pumping, breath holding suspense. I was fully engaged in the lives of the characters and cared what happened to them. It reminded me so much of Criminal Minds and would make a great episode on that show.
If you enjoy suspense that contains murder, a serial killer, lots of victims and a touch of romance I guarantee you'll love this novel.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise.
