How can we have an authentic faith when we no longer have well-defined, codified beliefs? Where do we turn to better understand our relationship with God when the messages of the Church seem simplistic? This book is for all those who are asking the tough questions and are not satisfied with the answers they are receiving.
Tom Stella, C.S.C., is the author of The God Instinct and is widely recognized as a spiritual director and retreat leader. A Catholic priest in the congregation of Holy Cross, Stella initiated a spirituality-in-the-workplace program at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, where he is a chaplain. He cofounded Soul-Link, a not-for-profit organization that creates opportunities for spiritual seekers to discover one another and communicate through retreats, small group discussions, and a variety of educational programs.
“[S]imply the most provocative, disturbing and courageous book that I have read in many, many years.”
“Stella succeeds in playing the Music of Faith rather than squabbling over who’s staying closest to the old scores.”
“Interesting and helpful to Protestants and Catholics alike.”
“A book for grown-up Christians. . .[and] those wanting to think about faith as well as practice it.”
“Certain to resonate with Christians for whom conventional theological and biblical understandings have become inadequate.”
“Resonates with people who find themselves out of sync with religious institutions.”
“A stimulating, thoughtful exploration of Christian faith that reaches past dogma to the fundamentally enigmatic nature of God.”
