Caitlyn5 Stars Out Of 5Great truth!!August 6, 2016CaitlynQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Our culture is saturated with sexuality. All you have to do is turn on the TV and within a few minutes of watching a popular sitcom, you will witness lies about sex; couples sleeping together before marriage without any hesitation, breaking up with your ex only to sleep with her best friend, or pregnancies out of wedlock. All of these and so much more are deemed acceptable in the eyes of the culture. Society weaves what they believe about sex, which is mainly opposite of the Bibles views, into every part of the world around us.
My heart breaks for the youth around me because society has twisted Gods beautiful design of intimacy shared between only a husband and a wife. They have given us rose-colored glasses so we cant easily define the truth instead of crystal-clear ones. Youth in our day dont stand a chance to save themselves for marriage because from the time we are walking, we are told its okay to do what ever makes you feel good; this includes sex.
I wish men and women knew the value of their bodies.
I wish men and women understood the importance of the gift of sex.
I wish men and women grasped the beauty of the gift, which is found only in marriage.
The enemy will do all he can to make sure he distorts and ruins any gift that God calls beautiful especially the gift of physical intimacy. Its a beautiful gift God has given each and every one of us. He has entrusted us the gift of sex. The question I have for you is: What you are doing with your gift?
What are the lies and myths the enemy has quietly spoken into your heart? Have you listened to them? Jennifer Stricklands book not only encourages you to value sex but also trades the lies for truth!
Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Lots of Good Information - Older GirlsJune 29, 2016Seasons of GraceAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Sex.. That highly taboo topic in some places, spoken of quite frivolously in others. The one some Christians don't talk about enough and that world talks about too much. You know the theme most of us tend to shy away from.
Jennifer does not. She addresses it head on. This book contains myths (an unproved or false collective belief) that girls tend to believe and live by such as guilt, fear, feelings of worthlessness. And the counterpoint to that myth - truth from the Word of God.
This book pretty much covers it all - abortions, premarital sex, promiscuity, STD's, as well as, love, kindness, feelings... There is really more than I could list here with out taking up a lot of space. Jennifer identifies by using stories of women who have been through the situations themselves, including her own. She explains how much God loves us and His plan for great sex, within the context He created it for.
This book is ideally for older girls, but mothers may want to use it as a learning tool. Teenagers would benefit from reading this book especially if they are exposed to a great deal of culture and peer pressure. If your young girl has been sheltered a bit more, you may want to wait til she is a little older. But many young teens now days need to hear what Jennifer has to share. You may not agree with everything that Jennifer has to say, but there is certainly a lot to glean from this book. I would encourage you to read it, and share it with those you know.
I was blessed with this book courtesy of Barbour Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion. I am not required to write a positive review.

Cindy NavarroCullman, ALAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A refreshingly honest look at myths about sexJune 11, 2016Cindy NavarroCullman, ALAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Filled with personal anecdotes and experiences of those who have experiences of the varying topics, Biblical wisdom, and the author's personal stories and thoughts, this book is a frank and refreshingly honest discussion that does not offer condemnation or shame. There is guidance offered, but not in a bombastic "turn or burn" style that only criticizes. Whether the reader is a victim or is making an active choice, love and acceptance are freely given...but with a balanced viewpoint that is Biblically sound. On the negative side, some seemed a bit too simple and naive. People do not always respond to your sincerity when you say love someone while not condoning their lifestyle. I totally get it, but have also watched the world become angrier and more bitter if everything they believe is not embraced. However, I do agree with what Jennifer said about loving people and treating them with respect.
I do highly recommend this book as a great resource for all. Whether you have not yet begun to date or if you have been through so many experiences that you feel it is too late to change---or, like many of us, somewhere in between, the book has truths that we all need poured into our lives.
Disclosure: I received a free download of this book from the author. However, all opinions are my own.
Tracy5 Stars Out Of 5Courageous and beautifully written!June 9, 2016TracyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Jennifer has a way of writing that speaks the truth with love. She addresses every sensitive area related to sex in a direct yet tactful and graced filled way. You can sense her 'mama bear' heart to help protect and educate girls and women who may never have heard that they are a beautiful treasure in the eyes of God and are worthy to be valued and treated with love and gentleness. In reading this book it brought me a better understanding of the damage done to me from my past sexual experiences and in turn brought another level of healing as I grieved, repented and surrendered it all to the Lord. Well done Jennifer! This book is a great gift for any young woman heading into middle school, high school, or off to college.
