CherylSecAge: 55-65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5My Favorite So Far!March 4, 2015CherylSecAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I'm really enjoying The Courtships of Lancaster County series by Leslie Gould. I think Becoming Bea is my favorite so far.
Beatrice Zook and Ben Rupp have been friends since childhood. They once courted, but Ben broke it off, leaving Bea hurt and hesitant to trust him again. Their rivalry since a school spelling bee has carried into a deeper conflict as adults. When Bea helps a family care for their triplets, she learns more about herself and her feelings toward Ben, along with the lessons God has in store for her.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I was under no obligation to review it. Becoming Bea is a well-written, heart-warming romance. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series by Leslie Gould.
PennyMindingMomAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Great ReadDecember 28, 2014PennyMindingMomAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Becoming Bea is the fourth book in the Courtships of Lancaster County series. I have read the first two books in this series, Courting Cate and Adoring Addie. Each book in this
series can be read as a stand alone book, but Im sure youll want to read them all.
The author, Leslie Gould, tells the story of Beatrice Zook. Bea lives with her mother, sister Molly and Mollys husband Leon. When Beas family goes on vacation to Montana to visit Leons
family, Bea is allowed to remain home if she can find a job. She finds a job working for Bob and Nan caring for their preemie triplets.
While working with the triplets Beas outlook on life changes. As Bea learns more about herself she realizes that she needs to make some changes. She soon learns how to enjoy the
fellowship with her peers and appreciate the teamwork it takes to accomplish tasks.
Working with the triplets isnt without its hardships for Bea. She is put into contact with Ben Rupp. The two courted once, but when it ended abruptly Bea with hurt beyond measure. Bea
found it hard to open up to anyone after that. Now that hes back in her life, can they learn to forgive each other and follow the life that God has planned for them?
Becoming Bea teaches you about forgiveness and putting the needs of others first. It was a great conclusion to the series.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from Bethany House/Baker Publishing Group for review. I was in no way compensated for this review.
DaisiesAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5God Overcomes Pride and Miscommunications, and Heals Relationships!December 23, 2014DaisiesAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I havent read the others in the series, and this is the last book, so my thoughts are from that standpoint.
I loved this book!! Beas controlling sister Molly reminded me of times with my mom, and friends Ive seen put in these situations. I love that things are resolved between them in the end, and that they can begin a real sister relationship. Healing and restoration are always great things!
Bea is a good example of someone who has let her pride and introverted-ness isolate her in all of her relationships, or prevent her from even having relationships/friendships. And pride and fear are behind her antagonist attitude toward Ben. As her confidence grows while caring for a neighbors triplets, so does her openness to friendship. And, as usual, its always good to communicate with each other when theres a misunderstanding, rather than listen to others or jump to conclusions!
So many great lessons here, but youll have to read it yourself to find out the rest!
A personal favorite bit, because its a part of nature that I also love, is this: Ahead was a forest of trees, their leaves fiery red and orange. Oh, myits like a tunnel!! I said. I adore tree tunnels!!!!

Happy Reading and Merry CHRISTmas!!
Nancee5 Stars Out Of 5Another great tale in this series!December 10, 2014NanceeQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Beatrice Zook has always been somewhat strong-willed and standoffish with her peers, but she is not ready to be whisked off to Montana, far from her roots in Lancaster County. A lifelong sparring match ensued between Beatrice and Ben Rupp over the years as the two competed against each other in their school spelling bees. The sparring continues even though Bea knows it's prideful to have the last say. Marriage has never been an option where Bea is concerned. No one measures up to her high standards. As she attempts to overcome her bad habits she finds that change is much less difficult while working with an Amish couple with newborn triplets. Her entire outlook changes as she discovers herself more competent and compassionate than she ever thought possible. It seems that love is in the air for everyone but her, but is there anyone capable of making her happy?
I've thoroughly enjoyed the books in this series by Leslie Gould. Her information pertaining to the Lancaster Amish culture is well researched and delineated in "Becoming Bea." The characters throughout this story exemplify believable traits and characteristics that add a great deal of interest and variety throughout this story of multiple characters. Personality conflicts as well as new friendships and family dynamics are strong features that surface through difficult days and nights spent keeping up with newborn triplets and a multiplicity of other characters and events. "Becoming Bea" will make you laugh, bring you to tears and cause you to reflect on your own attitude about life. Grab a copy and enjoy the evolving drama as it escalates throughout this great story! You're sure to enjoy it!
