In Becoming Spiritually Beautiful, popular author Sharon Jaynes gently shares how becoming spiritually beautiful is something full of promise and possibilities. Spiritual beauty brings new beginnings, fresh faith, and the hope of a beauty unique in the universe...the beauty of a woman who
- overcomes lies about herself and sees the truth
- believes that God has a good plan for her life
- leaves the past in the past and finds peace in the present
Readers will discover that true beauty is not based on external adornmentsit’s really all about what goes on inside a woman. In letting God transform their hearts, minds, wills, and emotions, women will see that knowing and loving the Lord is better than anything else.
Sharon Jaynes is an international inspirational speaker and Bible teacher for women’s conferences and events. She is also the author of several books, including Becoming the Woman of His Dreams and Becoming Spiritually Beautiful. Sharon and her husband, Steve, have one grown son, Steven, and live in North Carolina.
Jaynes is a real woman writing to real women. She is easy to relate to, and is well versed in the Bible. Her writing can get cheesy at times, typically the very end of chapters, but her use of metaphors adds greatly to the book as a whole. There are valuable illustrations that will help the reader remember the main points of each section.
Jaynes knows that there is more to healing past hurts and integrating new truths than simply the mind, and so she incorporates the body, soul, and spirit into each of her lessons. She identifies commonly believed lies (about image, about weight, about fashion, about grace and charm, about education and money), and provides the reader with biblical truths to counterpoint them. Gods Word is used frequently to reinforce Jaynes points and is used in a sound, reliable manner.
Becoming Spiritually Beautiful would make a great addition to any womans personal library. Although it can be mildly corny in passing moments, the wisdom it provides makes up for it tenfold. Sharon Jaynes has taken every womans struggle and turned it into a surmountable obstacle through the power of biblical truths. Sarah Sawicki, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com
