God has dreamsjust for you
Becoming Myself is a hope-filled book for anyone who wonders if her life will ever changeif she will ever change. In Stasi Eldredges most intimate book yet, she shares her own struggles with self-worth, weight, and her past as she shows readers how God is faithfully unveiling who we truly are.
Stasi urges you to lay down your past thoughts about yourself and receive Gods incredible dreams for you instead. We cannot heal ourselves. We cannot become ourselves by ourselves. But we are not by ourselves.
The King of love wants to help us become. God desires to restore usthe real us. As he heals our inner life, he calls us to rise to the occasion of our lives. The most important journey any woman can take is the journey into becoming her true self through the love of God.
It's a beautiful paradox. The more of Gods you become, the more yourself you becomethe "self" he had in mind when he thought of you before the creation of the world.
Discover your truest selfthe woman God created you to bein Becoming Myself.
Stasi Eldredges heart was captured by God through the Sacred Romance and she has never gotten over it. Or rather, Him. She is the co-author (with her husband John) of the New York Times Bestselling book Captivating and Love & War. Their ministry, Ransomed Heart, has been used by God to transform the lives of men and women all over the world. They make their home in Colorado. The mother of three grown sons who no longer live in her home but take residence forever in her heart, Stasi is a writer and conference speaker passionate about women embracing the value of their heart and life to Jesus Christ and risking everything on that!

Anon5 Stars Out Of 5Becoming MyselfJanuary 6, 2016AnonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I am constantly working on getting as much emotional healing as possible. The more healing I get, the better I can hear God.
This book was another wonderful step in my journey to being the best person I can be. My mother had just passed away and the book helped me close some "loose emotional ends".
I got so much out of the book that I buy it to give as a gift to my friends. I pray that everyone opens their heart to receive all of the healing and freedom that God has for each one of us. May you be profoundly changed and blessed from reading this book!

MenRead5 Stars Out Of 5Do not read everything your girlfriend thinks is a good ideaJune 18, 2015MenReadQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I read this for myself when someone gave it to my girlfriend. I bought my own copy and started reading at her request so we can compare thoughts. I have more time to read and finished well ahead of her and lets say this I found it slightly uncomfortable at times in a appropriate and helpful way. Most of the book either sex can really gain a lot from her writings in personal growth but some places a man can really understand more about who and what he is marrying possibly one day and truly grasp what women go through. Im glad I read this book and enjoyed my girlfriend blushing when she realized what she had me reading in chapters 3-5
We and I mean we are reading wild at heart next by her husband hope its just as much fun :)
Michele MorinWarren, MaineAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5He Sings Over You with LoveJune 5, 2015Michele MorinWarren, MaineAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5In Becoming Myself, Stasi Eldredge endeared herself to me in the first two pages with her sword-through-the-heart story about one-size-fits-all bathrobes at the spa she didnt want to go to in the first place. As a call to freedom and wholeness, the book is inspiring for cover-to-cover reading, but I see a greater role for it as part of a mothers tool belt in empowering her daughters to embrace Gods dream for them. Heres why:
First, Stasi devotes an entire chapter to female biochemistry, the ebbing and flowing of hormones and emotions, and as I read, I pictured a mum sitting down with her inconsolable teenage daughter, sharing the information from chapter three and saying, Honey, this is why you feel the way you do, only to pull the book out the following week, look in the mirror, and say the same words of consolation to herself.
Second, rather than posing as an expert in all things spiritual, Stasis writing voice demonstrates that she is coming from a place of deep neediness fulfilled in Christ and from recurrent failure forgiven. Three chapters that start with the word becoming echo the books encouraging title and theme: that no one is ever stuck, and that healing, restoration, and deliverance are gifts from God. The sensitive re-telling of the resurrection story in chapter twelve deserves an annual read every Easter for the whole family.
Third, living near the powerful rivers that make up the geography of Colorado, Stasi has observed the abundance of wildflowers that follow a spring flood. She follows the dots between this metaphor and the floods that characterize life in a family, life under difficult circumstances, life overwhelmed by past failures, and reminds her readers that the price of beautiful wildflowers is paid in sandbags.
Becoming Myself is an anthem, sung to the tune of Zephaniah 3:17:
The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.
It is in the lyrics to His song that we find out who we are, and that we learn the grace of rejoicing along with God in the beauty of His wonderful dream for each one of us.
