Tell us a little about yourself. Undergraduate degree, Majoring in Psychology at Purdue University. Studied at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Majoring in Religion. Extensive background in Biblical Studies. Public Service background, with teaching; and leadership experience.
What was your motivation behind this project? I have been blessed with a wide variety of life experiences, along with a tremendous father who was a Christian teacher. I began writing as a way to leave behind some thoughts for my only son; and his mother. The words kept flowing; and I began to save them. I started posting these stories online to simply share these same things with others. Within a few short months, I realized that I had accidentally written a book, a rather large book by the way! I believe God wants to use any of us who are willing to listen; and act, so I listened and acted!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I believe that the Living Bible is as accurate and true now, as it was over 2,000 years ago. I want people to see; and understand that It is very alive and well in the world today. I try to put ourselves in the middle of longstanding questions, along with the answers that are already found in our Bibles. We seem to want some truth; but not all of it; and that is a problem for all of us who continue to live that way!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? It's always funny to me that when I listen to someone who is speaking about God, I seem to feel that they are talking to me directly, too. I used to speak publicly; and I realized quickly that when God speaks through us, we often get to listen to Him speak as well. It's as if we are speaking, while we are also sitting in the front row listening. How great is Our Father Who uses us; and teaches us at the same time!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I am no fan fan of any man; but I am inspired by those who live above their own egos. We are all sinners in need of a Savior; but thankfully Jesus has already become that Savior to all who would follow Him. Look for those men and women who are followers of Jesus Christ alone; and listen to what they have to say, then follow their example! Words are meaningless, unless put into action!
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: We are all in this life together; and this world is not the end of us; but only just the beginning of something so much more! There is God who loves us dearly; and His Son gives us hope; but only through Him!
