Instead of preaching, speakers seem to nudge the listener, convict his or her heart, and offer practical suggestions. This is an excellent study. The participant's guide is very thorough. We would like to have more Scriptures included in the study.

Anne3 Stars Out Of 5April 6, 2010AnneI used this in a small-group setting. The DVD seems like it was created with "something for everyone" -- not necessarily a bad thing, if you're using this for a large church's curriculum. I gained a lot from some sessions, not much from others. Such is the nature of a DVD with clips from multiple voices. "Host" John Ortberg opened and closed each session with warmth, humor, and good insight. The Participant's Guide, on the other hand, needs a serious and comprehensive revision. Questions are clearly intended for open-ended discussion. However, when my group and I read through them, we definitely felt we were being guided to answer in a particular (PC) direction, which is the antithesis of a question intended to bring about self discovery. I hate to knock down someone's work, but if people are using this as a *Bible study*, it's important that this is called to the publishers', authors', and potential users' awareness.
